I just want to start off by saying THANK YOU devs for finally giving a reason to get AOTC.
I’ve always been jealous of Mythic guilds getting mounts for completing something and I feel Heroic always deserved a mount.
Amirdrasil hits all the good spots. You get a flavor of the Mythic mount. It’s not as cool, but its in the same realm.
Usually the last raid tier of an expac gets a mount with aotc, so makes sense why we get a mount for this one.

I do agree it would be cool to have one each season.
Mythic has its own mount, along with the rare embodiment skin, which drops from all difficulties. Heroic and up got the extra fancy version of that embodiment for AOTC which, while still great, isn’t really anything similar to what is obtainable from Mythic specifically.

Im mostly against time sensitive crap as i may bot want to raid sometimes
They’ve been doing this since MoP, so I think we should probably just come to expect it. Blizzard makes serious bank from token sales. They know it’s profitable, so there’s no reason for them to change their approach to end of expansion rewards.
Doesnt mean i wont hate it!
Tokens weren’t a thing in MoP. As much as I’m sure token sales motivate certain decisions, I don’t believe this is one of them.

I’m aware, but people were still buying carries even then. The token just made that easier starting in WoD. I also wholeheartedly disagree with your take that token sales don’t motivate them to keep doing this.
Varied heavily by server. First time I actually noticed public ads for raid carries on my server at the time was the end of WoD. Which makes sense since Tokens made that a more realistic business venture.
I’m sure the biggest servers always had it going on though.
They were a regular occurence on mine at the end of MoP and WoD, though by the end of WoD my server’s population had started to diminish. SL killed it entirely. I haven’t seen a single ad on my server for a while. If I want to buy a carry now for anything, I need to look elsewhere. I ended up moving one of my characters to Area 52 for that reason, among other things. Like actually being able to do open world content.
What? For years now you got a mount for AOTC if you did the final raid of an expansion, this isn’t new. In fact, it’s worse. Because it’s a skin and doesn’t even count as a +1 to my mount collection
Oh really? I was skimming through this thread thinking it was time to get my butt into gear and get it, but now that i know it isn’t an actual mount, i won’t feel so bad about skipping it 
To be fair, it’s a really cool skin.
That’s fair enough, and I’m happy for those of you that are into that kind of thing, i just personally dislike DR for the most part and am happy that i have been able to go back to my pre-DR small+quiet mounts, i really dislike busy animations like flappy wings and such lol
