Feedback for hero talents

Hello! I would like to provide my feedback in regards to the hero talents. I think the themes are awesome, and most of the visuals are amazing! However, I very much hope that more iteration can come. I haven’t spent any time on fire spec so I’ll only be talking about arcane and frost.

Spell slinger arcane
This feels so much fun. Having the dynamic for more barrages makes the spec feel more fluid to me, while having still some scripted sequences overall I think this hero talent is simply a banger.

(Quick overall arcane feedback)
Please make missiles do enough damage where we don’t want to clip the channel, this spell is awesome and I want to see it. Or make the missiles launch on the gcd /make channel last the gcd. Idk something! I wanna see dem missiles!!

Sunfury arcane
Oh the elephant in the room. I think this spec is fun as well, it does blast more but the visuals with the Phoenix and spheres are sweet! I do hope the burden change gets reverted, or at the very least have burden and glorious incandescent be able to consumed together so the FEEL of the rotation is more fluid

Spell slinger frost
This has been a very big miss from me. I think the concept is cool, but in practice trying to utilize the winters chill effectively just pushes other spells out of the rotation, and I think that is very negative . I don’t know what can be done to repair this feeling or design options to make it feel more fun, but I hope something happens soon.

Frost fire frost
Oh man. The spec I am the most hype for! The visuals getting living bombs and meteors feels so good. This spec plays more in line with the large update frost received in dragon flight and it’s the best implemented spec for me in the game on how it plays. But with that said, it’s tuning is pretty behind slinger and if I want to compete with my friends on damage I simply have to play a different spec. Also we can’t forget there are so many bugs still remaining with this hero talent spread, please address this.

I really hope we have some iterations coming, and from reading channels in the mage discord fire needs much more looking at. Thanks for reading!

I’ve really only been playing Sunfury Fire given that FFFire is buggy and LB is undertuned, and while I generally like it, I have a few (read: personal) gripes with it:

  • Honestly the post-Combustion Hyperthermia is a little jarring (will have to get used to it). Have to really track when Combustion is coming off so I’m not accidentally casting a Scorch or something. Also hard to really enjoy at such low current Haste. As someone who also has come to not mind SKB (hate having nothing up for every other pack), it also has some really annoying overlaps with SKB / in having to hold it, especially if it comes up during Combust.

  • Still stuck at 3 spheres out of combat most of the time, and I REALLY don’t like the out-of-combat generation mechanic and would highly prefer they just appeared at 3 (or any number) when entering combat and were at 0 otherwise. I don’t see any value to incentivizing downtime given the current state of the game.

  • Glorious Incandescence still has a weird delay and (for me) misses more often than not (probably less of an issue in raid at least).

  • Really wish Gravity Lapse were playable or at least had some niche where it were ever worth it to not take Dragon’s Breath, since it’s so cool in theory. (As a hero talent, would it be that OP to just make it a ranged DB/disorient with a different animation?)

  • Lessons in Debilitation is also a pretty lame alternative to Gravity Lapse and doesn’t even give you the stolen buff. (It also stole Moonkin aura in an arena the other day - that can’t have been right?)

  • I know every tree has a filler talent or two, but Merely a Setback is…pretty bad compared to say another 25% barrier.
