Feedback for Arcane mage talents

If you’re in the alpha PLEASE give feedback that the talents need adjustments.

Still pigeonholing between AOE and ST, for no reason.
No change to Supernova? Charged up on an AOE row?
Perhaps swap Arcane Orb with Enlightened and adjust accordlingly?

If Overpowered doesn’t change, it will still dominate its row. The last row is supposed to be gameplay changing, correct? Overpowered is completely passive and changes nothing. Either change it completely, or put it on a different tier, give a different talent the room to shine there.

*Edit to say that baseline Arcane changes are pretty great on paper, and go a long way towards fixing some of the problems we face. BUT the talents will feel just as bad as all of BFA has felt, where you have to choose between being effective on bosses OR trash packs, which always is a lame choice to have to make. Blizzard themselves said they want to avoid that!

Glad to see I’m not the only one that thinks this initial talent revision for arcane fixes nothing. From what I’ve seen the majority of arcane mages(myself included)only have one real issue with the spec and it’s that we have to decide between ST and aoe damage or we will be sub par at both and that REALLY needs to change.

MM hunter has similar talent issues. I’m hoping to get beta access so I can leave the feedback myself, but I figured it would be good to be heard as soon as possible, so hopefully someone with alpha access who agrees can help us out.

There’s plenty that could change, but at the very least moving Arcane Orb to an AOE row so that you can take it for M+ and not screw yourself would be a huge positive change!

Agreed. Honestly I’d love it if they just made arcane orb baseline like forb is for frost mages but I’d happily take it having it’s placement in the talent tree moved to a row where it’s not completely outclassed by the other option(s)

Yes I feel it should be baseline too. That’s maybe hoping for too much, but I’m determined to get some feedback heard

Same here and I honestly don’t care how big a stink I have to make to be heard.

Overpowered doesn’t necessarily need to change. Maybe a small nerf, if they increase AP’s base buff – that keeps the overall damage the same, but lowers that talent’s relative value to the others in that row.

I want to know how the new burst feels. Looking at it right now, it seems that Radiant Spark would add more damage to your burst window… except by the time you cast trinket > lust > spark > rune > AP > TotM > (actual spells) your hair will be grey and your grandkids will want you to play with them. You’ll have 5 seconds to get off four arcane blasts…

Yeah it’s a bit too much set up especially with everything being on the GCD. I don’t particularly mind things in the GCD, but if something is so extremely cooldown heavy burst set up, that’s a problem. You don’t want a large portion of your time being essentially empty casts for future damage, strung together.

Which is probably why I prefer the free flowing nature of Time Anomaly. Perhaps once I can test things, with the change to Mastery providing more reason to use Missiles and Barrage restoring mana, TA will be more useable. I just wish I could play TA and use Arcane Orb in keys. :expressionless:
