At least make old AV an option again. 3 day battleground summoning the Ice Lord… now that was “epic”…
Korrak’s Revenge showed that 3 day BGs won’t happen even with the old format.
30 minute plus Q times for alliance now for epic BG’s.
Really? I’ve been running epics all afternoon and it’s 4 min average wait on my alliance.
So I notice Ashran got upped to 30-man (what an odd number??)
Just make it 40-man again like I suggested, come on now
ashran is better as a 30v30, would still like to see a increase in the resource count. as it stands there is generally not enough resources to make a full recovery, even if a pushed back team builds momentum and starts a push, they are generally so far behind on resources that it wont matter. 300 again pls.
alternatively, increase the HP pool of tower mages significantly, they are 1/3 of the resource pool and drop like a rock once a few dps get on them.
give the alliance some flowers and remove the knockback effect from the horde tower mage spell living bomb.
AV is fixed with the changes since the restart, games go about 30 minutes now and there is lots of pvp.
in wintergrasp the demos have trouble hitting walls, in particular the inner walls, if you aim for where the top of the 50% broken wall would be, you can still damage the wall. overall the map still needs some love, there is tons of good suggestions in this thread from Enthusiasts.
IoC the glaives are easier to defend, however would like to see that last, we’ve had a brief period where you can win with any node, however with dps going up and burst getting bigger with leggos and optimal builds, we will probably go back to boring old hangarD.
Longer is fine, but increase rewards based on the longer duration. If not people are not going to play and will start yelling “Let Hem Win” as usual!
Alterac Valley needs to be fixed…
The Alliance base is built very defensively. Marksman can shoot you from a distance with no issue, from both bunkers. There’s a very large choke point that is a bridge just before those bunkers as well. The Horde base on the other hand is easily attackable from various points. An attacker can walk in almost untouched because of the weird path and structures leading up to the bunkers.
-It needs to be mirrored in some kind of way with the same defensive nature and chokepoint.
Wintergrasp needs to be redesigned. It greatly favors the defensive team. As defense there’s RPGGs easily obtained, Turrets manned like crazy, and Vehicles are plentiful. As Offense you pretty much have Vehicles only and RPGGs but the RPGGs are only refillable from across the map.
-Every workshop that offers buildable vehicles should also carry RPGGs.
-Offensive Vehicles should have mannable turret
-Offensive Vehicles should have more health since they are already up against enemy players, tons of turrets, rpggs, and vehicles!
Disagree, it was more fun with the full 40v40. The lag issue was overblown anyways, just a vocal minority of whiners.
Make it 40v40 again with 300 reinforcements, with both minibosses roaming around during the teamfights, then the bg will be fun again.
Obviously this means nerfing the ridiculous summoning cost down to something more reasonable. Maybe something like 500 fragments per boss summon instead of 3000 - something more realistic for a group of random pugs.
At 3000 fragments per summon, the minibosses almost never see play, it’s a shame.
That’d actually be a nerf for the Horde. The current rule set and map design actually favors the Horde winning every game provided they’re willing to play defense. If they hold IBGY and dig in, they’re virtually impossible to dislodge. Especially for an alliance team that’s actively antagonizing anyone running the PVE objectives- you’re supposed to use elite call in’s- cavalry and commandos specifically- to dislodge turtles but you’re average AV player doesn’t understand that.
For AV, I don’t know what you need to do, but you need to change the M.O. of just rushing to the end and night fighting one another. That ruined AV.
This bug is the most infuriating thing about WG right now. I’ve been on numerous offenses that would have won had this not been a problem.

How about you completely get rid of Trashran and give us the option to exclude certain battlegrounds…
That’s the only good Epic BG though. It’s the only Epic with PvP in it where you are fighting other players. AV, WG, Isle have no PvP in it you just do NPC stuff or shoot cannons. That isn’t fun or PvP.
Sieges/Cannons sole purpose is to damage structures NOT players. They shouldn’t be doing 30-70k dmg to player 1 shotting them removing all the PvP. Players should be defending Sieges because they are supposed to be very weak against players. You should PvP over objectives, not skip the PvP and just do the objective.
At no point should a Siege/Cannon do more than 2k dmg to a player!! Reduce their dmg across the board so we can organically get some PvP into these maps again. Where players have to defend and use strats.
No one wants to suicide into Sieges in hopes of doing some dmg before you are 1 shot. That isn’t PvP or FUN!! Stop it!!
Bring back blacklisting too for QoL so we can also block out both Siege maps.
Well you’re in the minority and that being the first time i’ve ever seen Trashran defended. At least we can agree on one thing, black listing.
Actually WG is the most hated Epic. Then players like myself don’t want to fight broken OP Sieges that 1 shot you removing the PvP.
I really like Ashran in WoD and spent hours in there. It’s not as good now but at least there are still big fights over objectives which is what you want in Epic BGs. You want players fighting other players and racking up HK’s.
Epic BGs should have people getting 40,50 and even 70 KBs by the end of the match. They should be huge battles that you can immerse yourself in. All of them still miss the mark and need fixes to get us there. However Ashran and AV have the most potential.
Think we should get rid of the Siege maps and add Tol Borad as it fits way better for an Epic BG. Then gets rid of what most players hate which is Siege fights.
My favorites in this order based on original map design:
- OG WG
- OG AV
- OG IoC
- OG Ashran

Currently Ashran is the most balanced map of the four current epics, and only needs a reduction in fragments for the big boys to be summoned.
IoC is closed to balanced if the damage from air ship guns is reduced against enemy players. Demo damage could be reduced against enemy players as well. But I think the trade off should be defensive cannons should be able to hit demos far more easily. Because without the demos facing a proper counter threat they are too strong against other players.
AV actually needs major work because many of the NPCs are useless and are just window dressing.
WG is so far from the original Wintergrasp it is a disgrace.

WG offense should start at the original location near the Broken Temple side.

A reduction of demo damage against players could work or make sure demos are easier to take down.
Basically offense should have easier access to demos/catas but there should be drawbacks so the defense has a chance to defend.
Current WG is designed to favor defense with mass demos/catas. Original WG was designed for offense to win more often than not to change sides for access to the VoA raid and WG vendors.
Ah yes, the epic where there’s a 1 hour 15% stat buff that doesn’t fall off on death right outside the Hordes door, while the Horde also has a significantly more powerful mage, is the most balanced of the epics.
