With only 150 resources now, and without the WoD events that’d give you 5000 frags every 2 mins, you’ll either die of old age, or mage will get killed before anything gets summoned
thats sounds good but is there any you guys can add blacklisting back?
Please fix the bug in Alterac Valley where the map changes to the “overall” azeroth world map instead of the bg zone-specific AV map. Not sure when this bug started, but it’s happening a lot lately
It’s annoying because to access the real-time map of the battleground (vital) I have to open up my quest log, click on a random Alterac Valley-specific quest, and then click enlarge.
try the addon REPorter, its up full time like the minimap and shows vital info like healer locations who is in combat, who is almost dead, and node timers. it also has right click reporting for nodes so you can call incs and status while fighting.
…come on Mr. dev person, let’s see something like this for them future/hypothetical patch notes
What better way to honor “15 years of World of Wacraft” than by turning this classic map into a bg? Sounds like “perfect timing” for it, actually
Such an announcement would be great, make my Christmas mr. dev person
Allow epic party sync for the level 20 bracket. Have both paid and free-to-play users in the same BG. The last time I got into a level 20 epic BG was summer 2018. Southshore v. Tarren Mill would be a great addition to the rotation.
If the classic AV in November is successful, it should be a permanent BG. At level 60, there is a large player base who can enjoy some old-fashioned PvP. I hear 120 battlegrounds are terrible.
Wintergrasp
I really believe if killing guards gave kill credit to everyone then the attacking team would fare much better, or at least guarantee getting to the mid game more cleanly. Guard kills could speed up the game to more vehicle battles and prevent the Sunken Work Shop battle which can decide the game.
Right now the defending team can prepare Sunken for defense, or if the Attacking team ignores them then the defending team can just run around the map delaying the game.
Most games that devolve into running around seem to be decided on which Team has people who won’t listen.
—————
By no means do I think it will fully solve the issues, most people hating WG dislike how it operates with vehicles, I enjoy it.
But it is an issue that the Attacking team can have an uphill battle, and even then whoever wins the single at Sunken can steamroll the game.
I would like to think making it easier for teams to rack up ranks on NPCs can offer a more paced out game over a 6 minute Attacking win, or 30 minute GY camp for Defense. Those two scenarios are at least my experience in WG.
Considering the amount of bltching about lag in current epics, this will go well
I seriously wonder what people are playing on since this thing is 7 years old and no lag or framerate drops (And everything set to max)
I’m loving the changes to the “Rocket-Propelled Goblin Grenade” in Wintergrasp. They are way more effective now against tanks!
Blizz needs to revert the reinforcements count back up to 300 in Ashran. I’m happy with the summoning cost going up, I’m also happy with the MASSIVE reduction in lag. I believe the just got rid of a lot of NPCs to reduce the lag but idk. Basically they made the BG MUCH better / playable but at the same time the kinda ruined the EPIC BG when the reduced the reinforcements. If people want to complain abut epic bgs taking to long then they can go play regular bgs.
^^^^ I think it’s pretty obvious by now that the old/pre-patch Ashran was better. These 8.2.5 Ashran games just end way too quickly imo. I already miss seeing the big bosses in action and the AA in action… those kinds of things added to the “epic” experience
No offense to any of you “bg week” casuals who may stumble upon this thread, but if you don’t like longer games then you should probably just stick to the little 10/15 man bgs. Not all of us have the same “gogogo!” mentality as you, some of us actually like longer, action-packed games
It really does seem like these 8.2.5 patch changes to Ashran were not very well play-tested on their end. “On paper” the patch changes don’t sound too bad, but in practice/in actuality they really have watered down/pruned the Ashran experience (in my opinion).
My diagnosis is that some reverts are definitely needed
Was just in an Ashran where it dragged on long enough for a SECOND ANCIENT ARTIFACT to spawn. The first one despawned from expiration, and then RESPAWNED ontop of where my character was.
And then the second one spawned at ROC roughly 5 minutes later.
Please to GOD tell me that’s a bug. There’s no reason to have TWO of them up at once.
So anyways, the Alterac Valley map bug (where it opens a map of “Azeroth” instead of the zone-specific AV map) is still happening.
It’s happened to me randomly/multiple times the last couple days. I don’t remember this bug existing before 8.2.5, maybe it’s related?
I would really like more incentives / benefits for those who guard a base in any Epic Battleground.
IoC seems to offer more honor when guarding a base (which is nice due to my current grind for lvl 500 honor). At the very least, have the same bonus honor buff for defending in other Epic BGs too.
- side-note: I know AV sometimes has a Commander, or NPC that offers a buff.
Merc mode needs to go away for epic Bgs. I don’t care if it means longer queues, I would rather not have my day ruined by mercs working with the other side tossing the game.
Remove Wintergrasp and my joy in queuing for Epic Battlegrounds will increase about %99. It’s just one big driving game of Demolisher Derby.
I’m sorry you feel that way… details? What happened?
Personally it’s been quite a while since I’ve seen a Horde merc “throw” a bg. The last such instance was the one Priest merc dropping the bugged fish feasts (several months back), but that’s about it.
Contrary to what some of the Alliance posters on this forum like to claim, Horde mercs “throwing” or “sabotaging” Alliance bgs is actually quite rare
Honestly I see more Alliance players making game-losing mistakes than anything else. Alliance players do a pretty good job of “trolling” themselves with some of the bad plays I frequently see out of them
RP-GGs in WG still feel way to slow to fire if the cast is canceled on damage. Either keep the cast time the same and remove the the cancel on damage or drop the cast time by at least 1 second.
Wintergrasp is very, very lopsided in favor of defense. There’s a serious issue with having an asymmetrical BG such as this in the BG rotation.
Even with proper usage of RP-GGs, the offensive team has a next to ZERO chance of actually winning. It legitimately requires the defending team to have no idea what they’re doing, and none of them in their base turtling, for the offense team to win.
It’s very unfair for any team that plays offense to have to suffer 40 minutes of a nigh-inevitable loss. Even with me leading it’s almost impossible due to minor mistakes.
So, I propose a quick list of ideas to make the battleground NOT suck for offense. Mix and match as required, these are just general ideas.
-
Make vehicles explode after 5 minutes of use and give the player a 5-minute debuff preventing the usage of vehicles. Doing this will prevent these ‘Demolisher Death Squads’ that I ALWAYS see if the defense team manages to win the first teamfight.
-
Make RP-GG have more charges, travel faster, and a faster cast time, with NO interrupt on the channel when you get hit. FORCE people to use their crowd control on people trying to use these. It’s unfair to randomly get hit by a demo and the entire cast ruined 80% in.
-
Buff the damage of vehicles on the offensive team. This should be a default. If the offensive team loses the first fight, they more or less lose the entire game. It’s ridiculous.
-
ALLOW THE WORKSHOPS IN THE WINTERGRASP FORTRESS TO BE ATTACKABLE BY OFFENSE. This should be damn-near a given. There is NO REASON that the defensive team should have such a lopsided advantage in the form of 8 free vehicles that they can churn out and begin to turtle with in the event the workshop-area walls go down.
-
DECREASE the amount of free vehicles that the Wintergrasp Fortress provides by half. It should be TWO vehicles able to be created, per workshop in fortress, NOT four. The Defense handicap is way too strong, and needs serious nerfs.
These are just a few ideas that, after losing nearly every wintergrasp on offense (except for 1, where the enemy team had no healers and seemed demoralized due to it), and winning ALL BUT ONE on defense (People zerged the wrong workshop and it spiraled out of control), I have come up with. Some of them seem reasonable, some might not. But, feedback is feedback, and I’m really sick of backfilling into a drawn-out 40-minute loss as offense. Something HAS to change.
Sounds like you just got a bad/weak team, because it’s quite possible to win Wintergrasp in like 5-7 minutes as offense
It’s not complicated… IF (and only if) you win the first teamfight.
If you lose the first teamfight as offense?? Then yeah, that’s game over pretty much and time to take deserter
Just the other day I played an Alliance offense game where we had good DPSers (for once) and won the first teamfight, so we quickly spammed demos and rushed the wall immediately. By the time the other team started to recover/return to base to defend, we were already working on the main entrance door. I think I was in and out in like ~6 minutes.
Then in another offense game as Horde, we won the first teamfight and quickly cranked out 10-11 demos, we did the same thing… rushed the wall immediately and ended up winning in like 4 minutes.
If you’re not winning quick on offense, you’re doing it wrong… the longer the game goes the more chances for defense to turtle, the more chances for things to go wrong, etc. Time really is on defense’s side in Wintergrasp, so the shorter you can make the match the easier it will be.
