Spgy choke gives up 2 bunkers and mini boss. Can also be bypassed if you go up the hill

If you mean the hill near Wing Commander Jeztor, if you get up there you are already past the choke point and don’t need a flyer. Stealth classes can easily get past the Horde or Alliance choke points, that’s what they’re for after all.

Storm point GY is the analog of Frostwolf GY; gives up 2 bunkers and mini boss. Can also be bypassed if you go down the hill. Neither is a choke point.

Now I know who I want leading the Horde side when Blizzard finally does that ends reversed Alterac Valley brawl!

Never said FWGY was a choke. The horde keep is a good one though since the only way into the keep now is through the hut.

If you have people by ibt spamming aoe, it will bring out the stealth trying to go south. Like I’ve said, Horde should never lose a defensive av if they play it right.

lost one last night, so it does happen. horde was playing lockdown defense in base and mid and managed to get the two mid towers ally only had one.

then, well then the defenders thought we were winning and got bored and ally put 5-10 people in each of the frostwolf towers, game over.

really, that’s all that’s needed, the cap race is won and lost at DB north/south and FW east/west.

I feel 2 ways about this.

(1) screw you, you guys had zerg insta-wins for like 10 years plus. all they did was buff NPC so you can’t zerg it. play the damn game. you guys still have a way way WAAAAAAYYYY easier push through enemy territory and our base is a cakewalk, by comparison ally base is a minefield of elite npc.

(2) I feel for you, after having been on the losing side for 10 years plus I know it doesn’t feel good. More of you guys really need to turn autopilot off and communicate.

Two more bugs I’ve run across while playing randoms:

  1. in Isle of Conquest earlier I witnessed an Alliance player somehow get up to the airship and commandeer a cannon (exploit??) to shoot down on the Hangar with - while Horde held the Hangar flag. I thought this was supposed to be impossible? The Horde team had the hangar from the very start (I was there when it capped), so I know this Alliance player did not get up there on the inactive airship “legitimately”.
It’s my understanding the cannons can’t even fire without having control of the Hangar, so this caught us (Hangar defenders) completely by surprise lol… suddenly my fellow Horde teammates were dying fast all around me. Immediately I looked around for enemy players, then I looked up - and saw “cannonballs” raining down on us from a lone turret on the (inactive) Alliance airship. I’ve witnessed this exploit on at least one other occasion, it’s a mystery how these Ally players get up there without having access to the portal/control of Hangar … so I’m assuming it’s some kind of unintended exploit.

  2. The little “helper” adds that Vanndar and Drek both have with them have a severely overtuned and OP debuff. Their “Demoralizing Shout” type abilities literally reduces affected melee players damage down to like 49-110 damage per attack. Seems to be some kind of scaling issue or something, but for a melee tank it can be tough to hold aggro when your attacks only do like 49 damage. The scaling needs to be tweaked for sure, it reduces attack power by thousands causing melee players to hit for like 10 damage per auto swing. One debuff reducing melee player’s damage output by 95-97% is just way too much.

You guys have a great choke at SHGY. Just screw SHB and hold that choke. Also you can lock gateway up onto the IBGY where the horde rez at. Horde have been dumb lately and are turtling IBT and leaving IBGY wide open for some reason.

Seige Engines can kill the boss. Glaives can 2 hit a boss, as of today. Bombs doing damage makes sense. Seige Engines shooting through the keep to take out a boss on the 2nd floor…nope.

no - they need to be this strong and soon (with the new raid coming out) probably much stronger to prevent bullcrap zergfest AV

The little hill path leading up to Hangar in IoC from Horde side needs a rethink. It’s far too easy for Alliance knockbacks to impede the Horde’s attempt to contest the point.

Particularly with Rings of Peace as they cover the entire entry point. Also, due to it being uphill direction we are travelling we get knocked back further than if the ground was level since we are then falling as well.

I’m not sure how to fix it without a significant map alteration.

Imagine saying this with a straight face…

Anyone who calls SHGY a choke probably doesn’t understand what a choke is.

The only choke near SHGY is at IWB and it works for horde, but not for alliance.

Yeah it’s not a “choke” if people just run into it over and over for no reason when they can go around. That’s actually the opposite of a “choke”.

The “IWB” choke I assume is that L turn around the mountain right there, yes? It’s a fantastic choke, and it works well for whichever side doesn’t have people running too far in.

IWB choke doesn’t work for alliance since it puts their nearest gy at SP with horde owning SHGY. It’s been used by many horde premades to farm HKs for this reason.

SH GY isn’t a choke because you can completely avoid it.

Needing a Lock to bypass the IB choke isn’t good enough.

Eh the IWB choke for Alliance doesn’t work as well still because all stealth can just go to the left of IWB and make it north. You’re also forfeiting SHGY if you stay at the IWB choke so anyone you kill Horde side could res there while Alliance would res at SPGY.

Yeah those are good points. All the same though, it seemed to work well when I was Alliance. The only times it seemed to go south (pun not intended) was when people would push south and leave the choke. Maybe I was just lucky with groups?

Not to doubt you, but was this recently?
