I feel since the envoker has a shorter range it should be able to cast its spells while moving. Much like how a hunter can do what it does while moving and at much farther range. Of course the empowered spells would need to be cast standing still but the other spells would be castable while moving at all times.
Personally because of the range limitations I dont like to play envoker. I would like to but i feel like im handicapping myself.

let me introduce you to Hover

Thatâs a half ah solution to the gimick though. The class is terrible squishy, channel caster and requires bad positioning to contest other ranged. Not to mention it gets beat out by some of the âless mobileâ classes easily. Hover needs changes if itâs actually going to be good. Like not interupting casts and being off the gcd for starters.
How about a version of Hover that doesnât send you skyrocketing forward?
I often canât press it as moving too far in any direction either puts me in deadly ground stuff or pulls mobs.
I sometimes Hover directly into walls to get the benefit, but is most dangerous in high movement fights where itâs most needed.
Hover only rockets you in a direction if youâre currently pressing a movement key when you use it. If you hit hover while standing still, you donât go zoom.

If thatâs true then I feel pretty silly just learning that now.
It is 100% true that it only moves you if you are moving.
Speaking from PVP, that wouldnât be overpowered or anything would it?
Just take Hover off the GCD, so I can pop it while channeling would make my day.
I do agree that 25 yards as a squishy caster is very ridiculous. However, moving while casting is not the answer. I think give us more range on all spells, or make Hover available more often, at least for Devastation. Maybe add another charge baseline or lower the recharge timer for Devastation only.
Have developers explained why they made the choice to make spells 25 yards?
Didnât they say it was because Evokers were to be the most mobile class in the game? And yet here we are, barely any more mobile than any other class. If we could always cast while moving then it would be justified. Then and only then.
As it currently is in PvP, for example, we can start casting and people will just walk away from us and negate a long cast time or channel, wasting our time and essence while they outrange us to death. Anything ranged with a slow or root can just dance right outside that 25yd range and destroy us without any retaliation if we dont have Hover up, which has a long cooldown for being our only real movement ability, on a class thatâs supposed to be mobile to make up for its shortcomings.
there reason is because i said so. feels like the least mobile ranged class that requires me to stand in almost melee so things dont out range my evoker. people keep giving me crap for saying this but nobody has yet proven this isnt a dragon tax. if they wanted to make mid range a thing they would have took some other range classes and did the same but because they didnt this is their monkeys paw for giving us playable dragons. when evokers go do a different race also i will stop calling it the dragon tax and just bad design from a bad dev
I feel like there needs to be two abilities. A flying âchargeâ ability which is the âoh crap get me out of the wayâ ability that launches us in our chosen direction and a separate hover for spellcasting mobility. At least then we wouldnât waste hover when we have a desperate need to move.
Added bonus if they made it so going into hover wouldnât break our spellcasting on living flame or the like.
