Feedback : Druid talent tree

Hello!
I hope this message finds you well.

I want to talk about the latest change in the talent tree—specifically, a part of it that doesn’t sit right with me.

First, I want to say that I’m all for the node-style talent tree. I think it’s awesome and makes a lot of sense, especially in a Druid scenario where we have so much utility and so many spells across different categories: Balance (Boomy) spells, defensive spells, utility, Cat spells, and so on.

I believe these nodes are meant to be placed near one another, creating distinct paths tailored to specific spell types. With that in mind, I would really love for the center portion of the tree to follow that same logic.

Right now, having Thick Hide and Natural Recovery as prerequisites for Soothe, and then having Soothe be the only path to Stampeding Roar, Lore of the Grove, and Instincts of the Claw feels… random? It doesn’t make sense. All around the tree, I can see clear paths for damage, utility, healing, and defense—except for this center section that starts at Soothe and moves toward the bottom.

It’s clear that you’re trying to make adjustments to the tree with the change to Lycara’s Meditation, and as a Resto Druid, I think it’s an okay-ish change, I guess—but it still doesn’t feel quite right. Why are there now two nodes side by side that essentially do the same thing?

With these changes, we’ll have Circle of the Heavens giving 5% magical damage (as a Resto Druid), and Lycara’s Meditation now granting 4% magical damage when in no form. These two talents essentially do the same thing.

And honestly, the buffs to the other forms don’t make much sense either. They’re buffs, sure—but conceptually, they feel odd:

  • Magical damage to No Form (instead of Boomkin)?
  • Avoidance to Boomkins?
  • Stamina to Cat (instead of Bear)?
  • Movement speed to Bear (instead of Cat)?

It just feels mismatched.

I really feel this portion of the tree should get some attention so it can make us feel like we’re specializing in something—just like the two other final portions of the tree.
