Welcome to the first Dragon Soul Raid playtest.

This playtest will run from Friday, January 24 at 1:30 p.m. PST until Monday, January 27 at 10:00 a.m. PST.

Getting Started
We do not have character templates specifically for Dragon Soul testing, but we do have vendors to help with all of your gearing needs.

  • Gem, consumables, glyphs, and other vendors will be available in Stormwind and Orgrimmar.
  • A special vendor, Dragon Soultar, will also be available in both cities. He sells Firelands Raid tier gear, as well as Dragonwrath, Tarecgosa’s Rest.

The entrance to the raid is located in the Caverns of Time in Tanaris.

Dragon Soul Known Issues
There is an issue with the extra action button appearing in two encounters: Ultraxion and Madness of Deathwing. We’re planning to have these fixed for the next PTR raid test.

  • Ultraxion
    • The Heroic Will ability button doesn’t appear during the encounter.
      • To work around this issue, a new NPC, Trop the Heroic, is present on the top of Wyrmrest Temple where the Ultraxion Encounter takes place.
      • Talk to him, and he will give you a Heroic Will item.
      • You can use this item to cast the Heroic Will spell during the encounter.
      • The Heroic Will item has 50 charges, so you may need to pick up a new one before you restart the encounter.
  • Madness of Deathwing
    • Ysera’s “Enter the Dream” spell will not be available.

gems and reforge dont work.

We are aware of and working to fix an issue with pop-up windows impacting socketing and enchanting.

The fix will likely require us the update the PTR.

We’ll let you know when we deploy the fix.

Anything about reforging being turned on?
You can socket items by shift right clicking them then left clicking a gem to pick it up and using “/run ClickSocketButton(id)” where id is a number between 1 and 3 and then using “/run AcceptSockets()” to confirm
Enchants can be used by putting them on your action bar. Reforging is more important.

this almost makes it worse lol if we could atleast reforge then we could use the gear without gems, also a workaround for enchants, place it on ur hotbar and use from there it works!

i can’t even get into the ptr to test anything. it’s always “no realms available” for me now.

We’ve now completed the fix and update. Enchanting and Socketing should again work as expected.

We do not expect to finalize a fix for Reforging before the end of this weekend raid test.

then the gear vendors dont matter? seems like a pointless thing to fix the gemming and such but not be able to utlize the gear?

unable to do the quest proving your worth? also bug when trying to do hagara on herioc, we switch it to 10 herioc but it doesnt swap the boss to herioc

The issue is because the developers broke the Extra action button in beta and have yet to fix it. Instead, resources were wasted on SoD while ignoring Cata. For the last 8 months. Your dev team has had over 8 months to fix this issue and hasn’t.

Well considering Spine was bugged and unkillable i doubt that this was even an issue.

Here is an idea: test the in your current gear so you actually know what the content will feel like you raid.

T13 isnt needed but a vendor to turn in the tokens would be nice but not to buy T13 for testing that isnt needed.

one more thing REMOVE LFR its not needed in cata bring it back for MoP. Your devs had the right idea when they said they had no plans to release LFR in cata.

LFR is the third catch-up mechanic that is likely to cause players to quit the game faster when they become bored.
You are releasing new Inferno dungeons with Firelands loot from a vendor and three new heroics Firelands-equivalent.
LFR drops gear that is equal to that of Firelands as well. This is excessive catch-up mechanics for the last phase.
