STOP IT!! I cant math this late in the day LOL
Gear progression past tier 8 will come from crests and crafting. A player will be able to reach an average ilvl around 671-672 (Myth 4) just from delves. Thatâs perfectly respectable for solo content.
I am ok for the downgrade of gears from T8 delves and also the downgrade of Vault reward from Hero 3 to Hero 1.
However, I want to point out a very important key - the number of flightstones that needed to upgrade the gears.
I can compare my S1 experience with the whole DF expansion and it is much worse for any players only do solo content to gather enough flightstones to upgrade the gears on a weekly basis.
To me, crests were never the issue and concern, flightstones are.
For anyone that will play lots of alts, getting a Champion track 3/8 from delves saved any solo players tons of time for the stones and the low tier crests needed.
Please buff the numbers of flightstones that players can gather from world quests and world event and world boss etc.
I donât appreciate how nebulous this explanation is. âEnough delvesâ is an RNG enough term to cause frustration if someone doesnât want to grind until they get a map
Just this change seems self-fulfilling. They lower the difficulty of the higher delves and that helps make their case for why gilded crests should be capped lower and hero track should be the apex of the delve ecosystem.
As you point out, with more gilded crest availability and crafting, strict-delve players could still reach into mid myth-track overall item levels. If devs are okay with that, why not just let the delves system expand to those levels?
I agree⌠some clarity for weekly planning of effort/time across multiple toons would be appreciated as I donât think disclosing the threshold for âcompleting enough Delvesâ is an exploitable bit of information. If itâs still RNG say so. If youâve done the right thing and it is NOT RNG, then just tell us the threshold.

?
You didnât need to spend them. The solo players werenât upgrading any of the gear they got from delves themselves, there were waiting for the hero track gear from the vault and upgrading hero track items. It was a waste of runed crests, that came at a premium because of how slow it was to get runed crests.
For solo players this is a awkwardly worded buff.
You used to get 2 runed crests per run, so you needed 8 delves for 16 to upgrade your item from the vault to 4/6 on the hero track. Before, you were effectively never capping on runed crests and you were never able to convert your runed into guilded. You were also never getting guilded crests outright from the delves themselves.
Now, youâre getting runed crests at over 5x the rate, AND youâre getting some guilded crests just from doing bountifuls. Youâll now be able to get 6/6 hero from crests alone, and youâll be able to convert excess guilded crests. Your gear cap will move to 4/6 myth track from crafted gear while getting your hero track gear to 6/6.
However, I want to point out a very important key - the number of flightstones that needed to upgrade the gears.
Join the club, youâre also spending far less stones to upgrade hero track gear than you are to upgrade myth track gear. Converting on runed guilded crests is net cheaper than upgrading myth track gear.
1: Will the Weekly 21 Gilded Crests be a rolling weekly cap, like the actual weekly Crest cap? If not, this is multiple weeks of Gilded crests lost as Delvers work to get to the point of even doing Tier 11 (even if they are being brought down some in difficulty, it wonât be Week 1-4 for dedicated Delvers). I would consider this a change so that both for alts, as well as season start, much like everyone doing the OTHER endgame pillars, we can earn our catchup of Gilded Crests once we can actually earn them.
2: Anyone who thinks that 21 is not enough, is not understanding that upgrading gear is not a âI got a new drop, I must have it at max upgrade track now for it to be viableâ. This allows a Delver (the INTENDED AUDIENCE) to get a 1,1,2 sequence of upgrades every 3 weeks. And only 2 upgrades are needed for Hero track gear, so this is 2 maxxed slots every 3 weeks (or 1 Gilded Crest, if rates remain the same as live for them). And that is before factoring in exchange and increased quantities.
3: What is in the Nemesis Strongbox? Is this another source of Hero track gear at the highest tier? Is this an extra source of Gilded Crests? Whatâs in the box?
Anyone who does not run Delves as their endgame (ie: If you do M+8 or higher, or raiding at Heroic or higher), YOU ARE NOT THE TARGET AUDIENCE. Get that through your head, please. Your complaints about what other people get, in a game mode that does not impact you, should not matter, and clearly wonât matter.
A delver would be better suited to get a 675 crafted item every 3 weeks, and worry about their 1,1,2 upgrades for Hero gear when theyâre either out of non-tier items to make, or have hit the spark limit.
Not entirely wrong. Almost certainly the right pick for the first 60 Crests for a weapon. But with the increased Runed output, as well as better exchange rates from season start, it will be a lot less demanding. Set pieces have to be Hero, trinkets will have to be as well generally. Beyond that, I can see some Delvers being decked in more crafted gear than anyone else, due to the crests.
So the gear received from Tier 8 delves and above and the vault is being nerfed. There is no real reason for this and just makes it more difficult to upgrade. If this had been applicable in this season the vault would give us a 610 item instead of 616. The crests and stones needed to up grade this are non-trivial.
