Feed Pet? (red text errors)

Are you having luck with this? Max level hunters, my pet either “…doesn’t like…” the food or the food is too low level to be consumed by Feed Pet. I’m using Hounds, Wolves, Cats and the Beast Lore has meat as a common. But I can’t get any of the meat food to work with this, really, I can’t get any of the food at all to work.

What do you use for food?

Hello, are you playing Retail?(Modern WOW) If you are, then I can tell you that in my experience, My carnivore, Mammal type pets all accept meat or a prepared meat dish for dinner, provided it is obtained no earlier than the last expansion from the current expansion I’m playing.
Day to day food from bygone days don’t have enough health points to do much for our pets OR us.

So shouldn’t Rib Stickers from the TWW cooking book work as a type of meat food for Feed Pet? I’m getting the error “your pet doesn’t like that food”. I’m using beast lore on the pet to make sure they have meat in the diet line of food.

This is for current retail wow.

I am having the same issue. Same pet, same food as always. Wolf eating Basically Beef with no luck either. I know I don’t have to feed him, but he’s such a good boy! This only started this week.

Well, Aduece and Noaa, it Is starting to sound like a code error to me.
I can’t say I recognize the cook- book, maybe I never saw it or it’s something I’ve forgotten. Something I haven’t forgotten is Feeding my pet the same Honey-glazed Haunches I ate for a Crit buff, During BfA.
I haven’t fed my pet, i don’t think, since the reset, I’m going to take a quick look [[[[later]]]]] Semi-quik. I have the same problem. The meat I offer my pet is too low a level to interest them. I offered food that restores a higher amount the its total health … Thank you both for pointing this out. I am putting a ticket, likely it will be the best move for now. Thankyou both.

Hello,

I just read that in Modern WoW, Hunters no longer have to feed their pets regularly - only after combat.

I already know we don’t have to feed pet on the regular basis anymore, that is not the point. The feed pet is for a large quick heal on exiting combat and the ability is broken.

I guess ol’ Blizzard has finally removed Feed Pet ability. I knew it would go by the wayside when they rework pets to never abandon you for lack of care.

I’m having the same issue. It started in the prepatch, and since I was consistently getting the error that the food wasn’t high enough level for my pet I thought they may have just deprecated basically beef as an “old” food even though we weren’t in Midnight yet. But now practically pork is also too low level for my level 81 bear.

I was checking to see if I was missing something. I like to do a quick heal esp with doing the prey stuff and want to make sure my pet is good to go. But with feed pet not really working and my meat loving pets I give them what meat I have from midnight to last xpac I get food is low level or doesn’t like it. Seeing how long this post been up guess fixing this issue is on the back burner.

I haven’t hit Feed Pet in Retail in over 10 years.

I submitted a ticket today as well. I know we don’t have to feed our pets, but it was a quick way to get them back to full health between pulls instead of waiting for mend pet to come off cooldown. I would like to have the option even if I don’t need to do it.

Of course it would say that. Too many hunters not able to feed pet after a major fight and its our internet connection. Please fix your code Blizzard! Its not internet connection when so many of us are complaining about it

Feed pet is totally useless. It should be useable in combat as another means to heal them, because mend pet’s regeneration is barely effective.

its 50% max hp over 10 sec with no further talent enhancement. that’s crazy high

Using it in combat is almost never enough to make your pet survive without having to use exhilaration

Then why are you in this thread? It provides a nice chunk of HP after combat, very helpful when there is minimal downtime between encounters. I guess it takes you an hour to do a tier 11 delve.

Thank you for the useless comment, though. Gotta get your social interaction somehow, I guess?
