Would be nice if the article wasn’t locked behind a paywall.

Thankfully found a summary of some of the key points elsewhere:

  • Chief executive Bobby Kotick, as well as several other executives, has been subpoenaed; the SEC has asked for communications from Kotick and senior executives around complaints of company harassment.
  • The SEC is seeking documents “including minutes from Activision board meetings since 2019, personnel files of six former employees, and separation agreements the company has reached this year with staffers,” per WSJ.

If Kotick goes down this is a victory for every single human being that plays video games.

Yeah just read it before coming back to forums. They are all crooks anyway so doubt anything meaningful will come of it.

Yeah it’s getting bad

Having California on your trail (with resources of the 7th largest economy in the world) is bad enough but when the feds get involved, yeah, it’s really bad.

Whether ActiBlizz wins or loses, their hired legal guns are going to make bank this year. lol

That doesn’t bode well when big brother gets wind of the scent.

I’m not sure what the future of WoW will hold.

No way the investors let this fly. They’ll be pressuring the board members to remove Kotick and find a new CEO.

Still early days unless he was planning an exit all along (taking the $150 mill a clue?). But if there was willful negligence and results in charges being filed and the company gets hit with huge penalties, yeah, no CEO is immune from that kind of stuff.

I feel like i’m watching WoW burn like a big dumpster fire.

So is WoW finished is it done then?

It’s ‘only’ shareholder money so it will be spent liberally and vigorously in defense of the corporate officers and company. lol
