Fed up with constant night

Blizz… Please STOP making Oceanic realms constantly NIGHT TIME in the middle of our day!!! I am sick and tired of playing in the dark constantly, months and months and months of stupid night. NEVER ever full day time. The ONLY option I have is a toy “Jar of Sunwarmed Sand” which if I log out to a different character and back to my main, it goes off and it has a 1 DAY COOLDOWN…

I can not stress this enough, I am SICK of the night time. Please STOP and LET THERE BE LIGHT!!!

I just rolled my eyes so hard I seen my butt. Thanks though, for pointing out something I have no control over. Being born in Australia.

They should just remove the cooldown from the toy or reduce it to like one minute if a cooldown is required at all. It would be a decent, not perfect, workaround.

I agree completely. I am 100% happy to press a button every two hours to make it daylight.

Get rid of the toys and potions.

It should be the following:

Options > Accessibility > Time of Day: night - day - inky black - rotation

Hold up. Every single one of those servers is set to Australian Eastern Time as far as I’m aware. I know that Sydney is 12 hours ahead of US Eastern Time, so when it’s 2 AM here it is 4 PM over there.

Are they actually still setting your in game time to reflect one of the US timezones despite those servers physically being located in Australia? I mean, I could see the reasoning if they were located in the Los Angeles datacenter, but that just seems backwards to me.

We have ‘local time’ option. But if you log into a Oceanic realm right now, it is supposed to be 3:40pm AEST or (1:40pm AWST local time for me) so, middle of the day, but the moon is up, it is dark. It is always dark in the middle of the day. So while the time on the clock might be correct, the day / night sure is not.

I have to use the toy to make it day time.

I agree, blood elves don’t belong in the night, that’s for night elves.

Jokes aside, it would be nice if they added an accessibility feature as was suggested.

That’s just beyond messed up then 0_o

Unfortunately, GD is not exactly the best place for something like this. I wouldn’t exactly call it a bug per se, but it certainly seems like an oversight that stems back to those servers being hosted here in the US prior to 2014.

Have you tried bringing it up in the bug report forum? Bug or not, to me that seems like the best place to ask about this.

Honestly, I think the continents should be on like an 8-12 hour cycle. When Eastern Kingdoms is light, Kalimdor should be dark, etc.

We might ask the Addon people, is there an addon to control when we have daylight?

Options > Accessibility > Adjust Day/Night to to Match Local Time of Day

They need to add this option to Accessibility. They already have toys that change night to day so they can 100% at this

I think there is a toy one can use to turn it all into daytime. :smiley: give that a try.

Hey, I play almost exclusively at night and feel this pain. I use this toy very often. It will make it daytime again.

I’d personally like a more ‘aggressive’ day-night cycle myself. Weather cycles as well.

And they’re annoying to use. Some don’t persist through dead. Some have a 24 hour cooldown, etc.
