FDK the debate needs to end

Imagine is obliterate did damage without km procs? Imagine if damage was added into other rotational abilities like frost strike, howling blast, and RW.

Easist fix is make obliterate do partial damage like scourge strike, and 100% frost with km procs. (Km no longer guarantees crits) and have it based on frost fever

This would make the awkward crit stat is not so janky since crit would require to make the spec even function. It would allow other parts of the kit(assuming tuned appropriately) actually feel good to press while still letting KM obliterate feel good to got since they will hit harder regardless, but non km hits not feel like total dog water.

When is the last time howling blast procs felt nice to hit and weren’t just used to apply razor ice? They could even add a talent to make frost strike do X% more damage based on how much you spend to make frost strike feel better to use (and fix the shattered line at the same time, assuming it is replaced)

There is so much they could do to make frost feel like a well designed spec. Obviously other talents would need to be changed, but some food for thought.

Also, on that note, all of what I mentioned is also feedback I have during beta, along with getting rid of pimples for UHDK.

Dk needs a redesign overall. The talent changes drom DF to now were improvements, but didn’t really solve the root issues.

I should have never made that Frost Fever suggestion back in SL when someone asked me what I would do to balance out KM procs between the weapons because everyone has missed the rest of what was said.

FF would normalize KM procs but come at a nerf either through number output or just fun and the other part was if you are just going to make the weapon options identical was was the point in bringing back 2h differently and not just making it a transmog option?

You guys apparently don’t know it but are making my point for me. All of this stuff has been useless if you just make 2h be exactly like DW when this could have all been avoided with an expansion of the transmog system which would have benefitted everyone and not just Frost DK.

I’d actually be in favor of FF KM procs, it would make it extremely consistent and even balance out damage without 100% uptime needing auto attacks. Also not having to spread stats so thin and pick and choose especially from a PVP perspective. I think they could remove the frost damage part of KM and just make it crit for KM, then only pillar apply the frost damage modification. Pillar would still be a great Burst and it would balance out damage

Every tick of FF would need to proc KM to have any sort of feel stay the same or else it just feels worse and the suggestion was made entirely as an exercise to think of ways to make KM procs equal between the weapons as well as recognize the consequences of that change.

Going from having almost every single Obliterate be a KM proc to a chance per tick which doesn’t increase with any stat and last I remember checking was a tick every 3 seconds, is just worse not to mention you would be looking at FF ticks delaying ability uses to see if you got a proc or not which isn’t good.

So while the result would achieve a normalization between the weapon sets for KM procs there are far more negatives that the idea shouldnt even be entertained (and I was originally the one to make the suggestion because I was asked how I would normalize KM procs because 2h advocates didn’t want an attack speed increase and instead wanted DW removed because they like to revise history to their own liking).

It’s just a worse change to the spec overall because a weapon was added back as a playable option instead of just making it a transmog option that 90% of people agree should have happened and even Fury Warriors say SMF should be removed and just made it to a transmog option

Opening up transmog would allow people to swap a 1h and offhand to a staff or vice versa, prot specs might be harder to open up, but it’s a better start and option than many suggestions trying to fix an issue that wasn’t an issue until they tried to balance whatever this actually is. I see it as trying to make 2h work like DW so people can pseudo remove DW because of some bigotry of the hateful on these forums.

Transmog literally fixes everyone’s issues. But I guess people are going to be against that because Kelliste says it right. Now who exactly is just being a contrarian to be a contrarian?

Frost had the option to use 2h from the very beginning. Not sure why you said it was added. In fact, a lot of DK from the start were playing 2h Frost. DW frost was doing most of its damage from free howling blast procs while 2h frost was more focused on obliterate. This is how I remember frost dk when the class was first introduced

So what, having the option to do something means absolutely nothing or else you would say Arms needs to have DW back. (Yes it had the option so where is it now?)

2h was added back in SL. That’s what I said it was added back.

Go look at Wrath Classic logs, top damage from Frost which was DW was Obliterate, not howling blast procs.

While that might fix the KM discrepancy, it does nothing to open up more builds for 2H. It’d still be locked out of Shattering/BoS builds due to lower AAs and less runeforges.

And KM procs being based off of FF ticks would be a nerf and a bigger one for 2h since it relies on Obliterate damage. A chance on FF ticks to gain a KM proc would be awful overall. It would also just feel worse because it would happen less often.

It would normalize KM procs but no one would like it in practice.

Frost DK rider, however, just doesn’t feel rewarding.

You kind of slap stuff and then wait, and then when you do get to pop PoF then you get all 4 horsemen and it’s a fun time, but there’s too much down time, Deathbringer Frost DK is a rewarding experience with little downtime.
