I have tried to use /cast [nocombat] freezing trap; [combat] feign death instead of the extra /cast line and it will not work, it never changes state after the FD and combat drops.
Why wont the combat modifiers work for FD trap macros?

it requires more than 1 button press to work, but I found it works 100% of the time if I just spam it. the downside being that it doesn’t appear to be instant, but that could be server latency.
well, I never said it wasn’t broken just pointed out that the janky macro kind of works, but it would be nice if I didn’t have to spam it to make it sort of work.
in a perfect world it would just feign death out of combat and instantly drop trap. if that’s how it worked in vanilla, maybe blizzard will fix whatever is causing it not to.
It appears that all moves (for any class that can) designed to drop aggro are not functioning. FD and also Vanish. Fade occasionally fails, but that might be due to resist.
In any event it appears the same mechanic is failing; ie. instant aggro drop.
you know… I thought so, but after seeing it posted on the forums, I tried it out and it just worked. it’s not perfect by any means, but it works if spammed.
It makes sense that it has to be spammed though. They are on the same gcd but the trap can only be used out of combat so you have to spam the macro to get it to jump from trap to feign. Then wait for the gcd and hit it again to get the trap.
I’m guessing this is how it works. Seems odd and not so fluid.
I watched the two clips of this guy and it seems I was wrong about feign death and freezing trap being on the same gcd. Watching him hit feign and then trap right after looks fairly smooth.
