I still remember getting my Rejuvenating Gem. I saved all of my DKP for it passing up on other much needed upgrades.

By the time it dropped, I could have gotten pretty much whatever I wanted since I by and far had more DKP than anybody else.

Seeing the stats on it now is kind of disheartening.

i remember advertising for an enchanter to enchant a piece of my rogue’s gear, and getting a response from a level 60 mage who was farming in bwl. she was wearing that pretty netherwind regalia set. i thought…oh i gotta get this gear. to this day, i still dont have the pieces of that set (got the recolor from tbc though. it isnt as pretty imo)

so for me, the mage netherwind regalia was my favorite from vanilla and still is, cause i’ve never gotten it

Staff of Jordan. Mained a mage in Vanilla. Saved up for that thing and used it from like level 26 or whatever well into MC.

Robes of Arugal for my mage. Still to this day my favorite looking chest piece, especially on an undead.

Barman Shanker. It was the best dagger in the game for a backstabbing rogue. Looked like a broken beer bottle. Had to solo Plugger Spazzring in the Grim Guzzler like 20 times to get it.

There’s nothing like that in the game now.

I’d say Thunderfury but, no… Mark of the Chosen. That’s the item. My fellow MTs know what’s up.

Atiesh, Greatstaff of the Guardian. Best staff in the game, looks like a level 25 green item.

Other favorite is the Azuresong Mageblade. I was screaming out loud when it dropped from my guild’s first Golemagg kill; it’s what I had been saving all my DKP for. BiS until BWL and looks great too.

Invulnerable Mail.

There was only one blacksmith on my server who had the pattern, and I was there when it dropped. I spent the next month or so (I forget exactly how long it took) grinding the gold and buying the items and the transmutes to get the materials for it, and got it crafted.

The original pre-nerf version gave ten seconds of invulnerability (or maybe eight, I forget which), and had no cooldown, so it was basically permanent invulnerability to rogues. As a primarily healing shaman in pvp, it was the most amazing thing ever.

Ancient Bone Bow was huge for me. It was the most badass looking bow in the game and it took forever for it to drop. When it finally did an f’ing rogue ninja’d it for a stat stick and dropped group. It was a PUG but the whole group was PISSED! I think it took another 30 runs for it to drop for me again. Luckily this time it was a guild run.

Close second was when I finally got to duel wield Bone Slicing Hatchets with the +agility green glow on both. I was working on that for so long it was so satisfying when it finally happened.

I got that one from a chest in Ungoro, it was in the ape cave. I was quite shocked :flushed:
