Lots of contrarians in here unwilling to speak truth. Invincible is Wrath’s best mount. It’s most iconic mount. With Protodrakes being the beast/mount added with the most impact on the setting.
Who guessed back in Wrath that the cool T-Rex dragon equivalent of cavemen would one day be expansion bosses? Wasn’t on my bingo card.
People have different opinions. It’s not contrarianism.
And Invincible is overrated.
Yikes tough decision for some expansions! 
Well, minus any class mounts – I’d say:
- Classic: Raptor mounts (any)
- BC: White Hawkstrider
- WOTLK: Head of Mimiron or the Mechano-hog
- Cata: The Drake of the South Wind
(Shame those kinds of drakes didn’t make a reprisal in Dragonflight …
)
- MoP: Astral Cloud Serpent
- WoD: Solar Spirehawk
- Legion: Spirit of Eche’ro or the Llothien Prowler
- BFA: Glacial Tidestorm (Yet to obtain)
- SL: Sinrunner Blanchy or the Mastercraft Gravewing
- DF: Renewed Proto-drake (Raszageth skin)
How can it be overrated, you can’t even see it.

Invincible wasn’t even the best mount from ICC, you might love it but it’s really overrated. Anyway on to the list.
Vanilla: Swift Zulian Tiger easy W no other mount has stood the test of time of being so desirable like this bad boy.
BC: Onyx Netherwing Drake man, we are flying on a DRAGON this was peak wow back in the day.
WOTLK: As overrated as it is gotta give it to the Spectral Tiger. People straight up forgot what expansion this thing was from but it’s still the mount that will turn the most people jealous when you get on it.
Cata: Corrupted Hippogryph, another head turner that people forget when it came into the game.
MoP: none of the mounts in this expansion really resonated with me so i’m going the boring route with Kor’kron Juggernaut.
WoD: Solar Spirehawk. 823 attempts on this thing back before the droprate was buffed but it was worth every single minute I spent out there camping that stupid bird.
Legion: Smoldering Ember Wyrm, finally an undead dragon I can get behind.
BFA: I still need to do the farm for it, but Honeyback Harvester manages to top the list of an expansion that felt really lacking in memorable mounts to me.
SL: this wasn’t an expansion, it was a 2 year vacation.
Dragonflight: gotta be Anu’relos, Flame’s Guidance, there is just so much going on with this mount and it looks so nice, somehow managed to dethrone solar spirehawk as my favorite fire bird.
TWW: the orange/black fire bee so far is in the lead for me, hopefully it’s not too much of a pain to go get.
BC: Netherwing drakes all of them
WotLK: Proto drakes all of them
Cata: Red Phosphorescent Stone Drake
Mists: Heavenly Onyx Cloud Serpent
WoD: Corrupted Dredwing ( My fav)
Legion: The Shaman class hall mount
