Favourite Classic Dungeon And Why?

Let’s get some positive threads happening. What is your favourite dungeon? Why is it your favourite?

I have A LOT of memories in Zul’Farrak. The epic stair fight was amazing. The atmosphere was cool, different to the others. I enjoyed the mobs and lay out. I think it was a really fun place to heal. The VooDoo mask was also one of my favourite helms at the time. I absolutely loved the way it looked.

Let’s see, can’t pick one. Zul’Farrak, as you mentioned. That stair fight is amazing, and getting that 2 handed epic from combining (let’s test my memory here) Sang’Thraze(?) and Sul’Thraze(?) on my Orc Warrior was, possibly, my first epic, I can’t remember for sure.

Literally all of Scarlet Monastery, like the whole thing. Getting the Robes of Doan(?) and that spell caster dagger from Library for my casters. Seeing an NPC actually using resurrection magic in a world where such magic exists - Whitemane and Mograine.

Wailing Caverns, actually felt like an expansive, labyrinthine cave network.

Dire Maul, though I didn’t get to spend a whole lot of time there, made an impression on me in the Warlock Dreadsteed quest.

RFD and RFK, Shadowfang Keep, where the precursor to this character had a rivalry with Arugal and I always went for his robes.

Man, I miss those old pre-simplification dungeons :frowning: Can’t wait to get back to them

it’s a toss up between SM, and ZF. both were popular so groups were easier to get, and fun to run. both also had decent gear. honorable mention would be stockades. (quick, and easy to get to, also easy to run out of if group was fubar)

that’s a good reason? did you ever run it?

I like watching people fail that jump in wailing caverns.

I would have liked Maraudon more if my groups didn’t always get lost and take almost an hour just to get inside.

It’s been so long I can’t even remember. I believe BRD was one of the more fondly remembered ones, as it was just so huge. But we’ll see in 3 months.

Lol I’ve never been a good jumper. So much pressure in a group situation lol. Luckily I have always been a healer so people are pretty patient

It’s hard to say really…

Maybe Sunken Temple, because as a druid healer, I still did quite a bit of CC in there with hibernate on the dragonkin… And I thought the story was interesting, though I do wish they would have closed out the Eranikus (sp?) story line.

It was followed through on in the AQ gate opening chain

I’d probably pick strat as a fav

I’d probably say Undead Strat was my favorite overall. I’m sure part of that was the possibility of getting a rare horsie at the end, but I never got tired of running the place.

everyone hated BRD, it was an extremely long gawd awful dungeon. the only time you did it was for the MC attunement, and your group usually broke up right after those that wanted it left. UBRS was the popular run there.

Ah! I never did that chain, so that’s probably why I didn’t know that.

I donated for the war effort, but beyond that I really had no interest. Heh.

Scarlet Monastery. Love the Scarlet Crusade, love the atmosphere, love the loot

I absolutely loved Sunken Temple too. I got my first epic from there  Man was i hated for winning that roll lol

Gnomeregan is one of my favorites because there was so much to do in there, and it was the first step into more difficult content imo. Gigantic, difficult pulls, multiple shortcuts, good rares and unique drops.

Lmao. Dude that is so evil. I bet they still remember your name

Waaaaaaaaaaaaat?

That place was epic. People would always be looking for groups for that place.

Bar runs, fight pit runs, attunement runs, gear runs, crafting runs (smoking heart and Hand of Rag), Rep runs (thorium brotherhood), recipe runs…

The only way your running it one and done is if you are fine skipping a ton of content and quests and don’t have any related professions.
