Favorite Weapon from Vanilla

Wanted to start a fun topic and reminisce about the good old days.

If you played Vanilla, what was your favorite weapon that you acquired? Aside from the obvious Arcanite Reaper that many warriors surely have fond memories of, my overall fave was Zin’Rokh, Destroyer of Worlds. The look of that thing was crazy. And so satisfying to use with WF / Sword Spec / HoJ Procs…

I only hit 58 in vanilla so my favorite weapon actually obtained was staff of Jordan. But this time around the weapon that is going to be my favorite is lokdelar for my hunter. I plan on making t2 my end goal so it will more than likely be the best now I get, on top of it having one of the COOLEST quest chains.

I liked my trusty benediction and I was always envious of quel’serrar.

Did somone say… Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker???

Favorite was blackhand doomsaw, but none of the classes i played could use polearms in vanilla so i never got it =(

I used taran icebreaker on my druid for a very long time, as well as staff of warding.

I have Zinrokh, Destroyer of Worlds. I also have Quel’Serrar. I have only gotten Untamed Blade. Ashkandi didnt drop on us after killing Nefarion many times.

Zin’rokh. Used that on my undead warrior through classic.

I got Krol Blade when I hit level 60 with my rogue. For some reason, it felt like an iconic combat rogue weapon to me. I loved that sword and it took me a long time farm the gold to get it.

My favorite is probably The epic 2h from Zul’farrak, the 2 swords combined. I got it on my troll surv hunter, used it until I got IBS

The nicker

Staff of Dominance from Goleagg is still my go to for a staff transmog, so I’ll have to go with that.

Benediction

My fav is benediction also but I like it transmogrified to high warlords war staff

So many, I can’t just choose one:

  1. Thunderfury - it looks so good with the dark blue inlay and the spark core, especially when you rotate while it’s in hand
  2. Benediction - a real head turner, so bright and vibrant, which is common in modern wow, but not in a good way, like a goofy way
  3. Teebu’s Blazing Longsword - it had that really bright red glow that actually lit up your character and the surrounding area like a torch
  4. Death’s Sting - those onyx prongs are viscous looking, I remember when my buddy got one, thinking it was the coolest looking dagger in a game ever
  5. Ashkandi - simple and elegant yet so sinister

I didn’t raid, so I never got it, but Corrupted Ashbringer was definitely my favorite. Not only did it just look awesome, it would temporarily make you “hated” with the Argent Dawn, but if you walked through Scarlet Monastery, everyone in the instance would bow to you. So cool.

Inventor’s focal sword with fiery weapon enchant!

Atiesh, Greatstaff of the Guardian

I loved the spare portal that later came in handy for TBC, and the stunning and unique spectral raven animation that floated around those who wielded it.

Thunderfury without a doubt. I love it so much I crafted a real life (full size) version of it out of plastic. If you Google “thunderfury irl” you’ll see my reddit post from a few years ago with a link to the imgur album.

Warden Staff - cuz it was kinda required for my feral tank. Lol
