Favorite TV Show of all time?

easy pick for me: The X-Files.

Even its worst seasons were 100% for me then any new, or old show. The closest second for me would be ST: TNG…but it was far from perfect compared to the x-files for me.

Mr. Robot. Most awesome ending ever!

…but that’s a hard choice as there are so many shows! :stuck_out_tongue:

What did you think of the tv show Millennium? I preferred it over X-Files but overall both shows were damn awesome. Such a shame it ended so quickly.

Getting back to fav shows. I couldn’t just pick one because that’s impossible. But stuff like Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Boston Legal are right up there.

Millennium was/is excellent, it deserved a big arc…more seasons. Heck even a TV movie would have been good. I need to re buy it on DVD simply because its not streaming anywhere nor is it on Blu Ray. Def. the most underrated 90s show. Also one of if not the first crime shows of its type.

There’s a lot but I think the one that helped me a lot was Bojack Horseman. So it’s a very sentimental choice.

It helped me process a few things about myself.

Frasier.

Frasier and then The Golden Girls. There’s something wholesome about old-timey humor. It’s a lot more tasteful and highbrow.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer. In the middle of a re-watch right now.

If we’re including streaming services, nothing comes close to HBO’s ‘Deadwood’. On standard cable, ‘The Westwing’ has always been my fav. ‘Archer’ is a gem as well. Can’t forget the BBC with ‘Top Gear’ - the original with Jeremy, the Hamster and Capt. Slow, not the new one which I refuse to watch.

Game of Thrones.

I’ve just started watching X-files about a month or two ago, I’m into season 3 now and I love it. I feel like it’s probably going to end up being my all time favorite. I just love Mulder and Scully

Probably Parks and Rec

Dang, that’s really hard to choose because there are just so many and some have their importance increased due to sentimental reasons. Part of me wants to say Miami Vice because I grew up with the show and grew up in Miami at the time. My parents recognized a great deal of the places they filmed. For me, as a kid, it was all about the cool cars and boats. The action and music as well as various stars like Phil Collins, Glenn Frey, Miles Davis, Eartha Kitt and those who would later become big in their own right. Ed O’Neill, Bruce Willis. I still crack up when I see Suicidal Tendencies performing. The show was also pretty forward at times dealing with AIDS and showing gays in a positive light.

Crud. It really is a toss up because I’ve also fallen in love with the old Magnum P.I. So many things I could bring up.

And then there’s Golden Girls…

I don’t think I have can give just one answer to this question. lol

In no particular order…

LOST - the first two seasons, then the show gets lost.

Kolchak: The Night Stalker - Old show that Chris Carter said was the most direct influence on the X-Files. I watched this when I was a teen.

Original Star Trek - Speaks for itself.

Star Trek Deep Space Nine - My favorite Star Trek.

NYPD Blue - The fall, the rise, the fall and the rise once again of Andy Sipowicz.

Law & Order SVU - Best cop show on TV right now. IMHO.

Big Bang Theory - I had computer security teacher similar to Sheldon. I passed the class anyway.

Cheers - “Norm!”, “How’s it going Mr. Peterson?”, “It’s a dog eat dog world and I’m wearing Milkbone underwear.”

Taxi - “What does a yellow light mean?”, “Slow down”, “Wwwwwhhhhhaaaaaattttt ddddooooeeeesssss aaaaa yyyyyeeeelllloooowww lllliiiiiggggghhhhtttttt mmmmeeeaaaan.”

Millennium - My favorite Chris Carter Show. “The Time is Now.”

X-Files - “The Truth is Out There”

That’s all I can think of so far…but there’s more! :slightly_smiling_face:

My dad records this on a regular basis!

Also that scene of his bare butt which got a lot of attention at the time. Funny how things have changed. Another show my dad and I will often watch together.

I named a dwarf D&D character Norim Ancliff after Norm and Cliff. I liked seeing various Cheers cast members show up on Fraiser.

I love that!

I recently found out that Morn, the guy who never talks and sits at Quark’s bar, is a nod to Norm from Cheers! I’m still kicking myself for not noticing it myself. Norm == morN.

That’s awesome! Little nods like that are so fun. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I got a kick out of coming across the voice actor of KITT, William Daniels, twice in a week on two different shows. He played an exasperated police detective on Kolchak and an art thief in Rockford Files.
