Now that spooktober ends in one hour, what are some of your favorite scary movies?
- Mine would have to be Hereditary, 11/10, horrifying film, and phenomenal cast, and acting
Now that spooktober ends in one hour, what are some of your favorite scary movies?
Evil Dead 2, because it’s funny!
The Land Before Time. That Sharptooth is super scary!
The Vvitch? Where the black goat at the end turns out to be a demon or something and kills everyone. Came out in 2014
The news…
Really though, I love scary movies even though I don’t get scared much. I do fear burning alive or buried alive stuff, so if that is in a movie I will be uncomfortable for sure.
Some of my faves (nostalgia) are:
1990 IT - I was 5 and snuck out and watched it with my brothers. It horrified me.
Child’s Play ruined me as a child as well.
Puppet Master
Halloween/Friday the 13th/Nightmare on Elm Street
I Know What You Did Last Summer. (Good teen memories)
As for current:
I enjoy The Conjuring movies.
The new IT was kind of disappointing to me, but I still enjoyed them both.
Plenty more.
Edit for the Scream franchise. Corny, but love them!
Lets get old-school.
White Zombie, 1932, Bela Lugosi and Robert Frazer starring.
Oooh i heard that one is good, its by the same producers of Hereditary, A24. I might go and watch it now haha
I liked the ABC’s of Death and the newer Cabin in the Woods.
I’d have to say Secret of Nimh was pretty terrifying as a small child.
Let me guess?
The owl yes?
Mulholland Drive
It’s scary in the sense of realism and surrealism… and has one of the scariest scenes in it that I’ve ever seen.
The Grudge always creeped me out because of the way the evil followed you out of the home.
Not even the workplace was safe.
Haha i love the scream movies, they are pretty entertaining to watch
Think the scariest one I saw isn’t full of blood and guts and things that jump out at you. It’s little things that just spooked me. It’s a psychological horror. To be fair I saw it when I was a very impressionable kid into the supernatural, so it may be different now, I just have never wanted to watch it again.
The Changling
I love terrible B movies, so the dumber they are the funnier they get. Couple examples:
“Night of the WereRooster” (looks like someone’s college project)
“My Mom’s a Werewolf” (omg the leg-shaving scene)
The Thing!! The 1982 one
“Night Of The Living Dead” 1968 black and white version, it was awesome and scared the living %$#@ outta me as a kid! lol
IT. (1990 version)
Cause Tim Curry, that’s why!
Plus it did kinda scare me as a child seeing that yellow coated kid get eaten by pennywise.
Pet Sematary.
Creepy church the cat
(My cat looks like Church but thankfully is a cuddly and mischievous wuss )
I preferred the old version of IT over the newer version, Tim Curry was amazing as IT.
Phantasm. I was just a kid when it first came out and the commercials for it were so scary to me I’d sit in another room when they played. Years later when I finally saw it I was amazed. It was a great horror movie that lived up to the trailer.
