Favorite quest line in WoW and why?

For me it’s the Blue Dragonflight reuniting quest line in DF. There’s plenty of great quests, but this one specifically felt like a capstone in 17 years of storytelling and it was nice to see closure for so many old and newish characters.

It was also imo the most well written quest in its expansion.

Honorable mention: The OG Hammer of Zul’Farrak quest chain from pre-Cataclysm. The lore behind it was meh, but 9 have many fond memories grouping up and making friends to complete this quest and go kill Gahzrilla.

While I think it’s because I did on a Paladin when I still green to WoW, probably Fiona’s Caravan. Aiding the two young Paladins while my character was also a leveling young Paladin… I loved every second of it when I did the quest for the first time, I was out there killing undead and helping the Argent Crusade, it felt very organic.
Then in Legion seeing Gidwin and Tarenar as full fledged members of the Silver Hand, the faction that I was now leading was really neat, I still have Gidwin’s medallion from the end of the quest chain on my Pally’s bank.

fixing valves is important than saving azeroth

This one

It’s the closest we ever get to experiencing the life of a normal Azerothian human…and its tragic

This one is probably my second favorite because its so dark and fun

Oh man I did this not too long ago and yea, it was a real feeler.

A Rare Bean from TBC. For reasons.

Now I need to know the reasons… and I need to look up that quest.

It’s hard for me to think of an example of my ‘favorite’.

However, I’ll think of a good example of a questline that was really good in this expansion. It involves you going into a spider cave to find some missing expedition members.

Hijinks ensue.

My memory is crap, so I have no idea. The recent one with the Earthen caretaker and his replacement was very good. Ditto with the Peacekeeper and the Lamplighter in the same zone.

Poop.

That one with the dead girl in Eastern Plaguelands hit me hard so many years ago.

The questline following that Earthen that chose to die by the shore got me in my feelings recently too.

Whichever quest that can be completed the fastest.

Ma’am you are still level 39, the fastest may not be working.

Probably the class hall quests from legion, but not all of them are really equal.

My fav quest line is always going to be the “Johnny Awesome” quests. That was just hilarious the first time I went through it, and the sparkle pony just put it over the top.

No idea I never cared to check quest stories

Because Dorak is the best little guy. I wish he’d shown up in the orc heritage quest. I named my orc warrior Karod in his honor.

Crusader Bridenbrad in Icecrown, though there are many others.

Blizzard storytelling is at its best in the shorter, self-contained storylines usually found in side-quests. I thoroughly enjoyed many of these during my quest for Loremaster.

It’s the overarching expansion plots that get convoluted and rightly criticized.

Just this expansion, the side quest where you help the elderly dwarf pass the torch to his apprentice and find final rest as he was struggling with his memory was a prime example. As someone who lost a best friend/mentor to dementia, it struck a very personal cord.

For me it has always been the Horde vs. Scarlet Crusade at Venomspite (Dragonblight in WOTLK).

I have always enjoyed the storyline there from start to finish. Something about the sheer, seething hatred the Scarlet Crusade has for all the non-converted heathens.

Whenever I run through Wrath, I always look forward to that chain.

Wrathgate questline, any of the attunement quest lines from Vanilla - WotLK, and the Rhok’delar quest line.

the one where you go to every great healer to try and save this one guy who’s dying in wrath.
