Favorite quest chain?

Several come to mind…

I love Tehd and Marius quest, the first WoD quest chain when you go through the portal and establish the first base on Draenor, the quest chain with First Arcanist Thalyssra when you discover Shalaran, a quest in WoD when you find the remains of two lovers who couldn’t find eachother, the quest chain with Wrathion when you learn the Titans have fallen, the ‘flex’ quest when you flex for the Innkeeper NPC, etc.

I think my favorite of them all was during Legion somewhere in Highmountain where you come across a tent. As I entered the tent a human named Marcus is laying in bed with a male and female Tauren couple. Marcus rises from the bed and exits the tent while saying to himself, “Well, that was certainly unexpected”. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to connect the dots that Marcus had a ‘intimate’ encounter with the Tauren couple.

What about you all? What’s some of your favorite quest chains?

Fionas caravan in Eastern plaguelands

Her caravan is probably my favorite group of side characters in the game.

And for a more current favorite, I enjoyed Abby lewis’ questline in drustvar and hope it gets continued instead of left on it’s current cliffhanger.

The dungeon armor (tier 0.5) quest-line back in vanilla before TBC was released.

Runas the Shamed for the feels bad? Returning the necklace to Sylvanas? So many good quests…

Darrowshire back in vanilla, with Pamela Redpath

My favorite chain has to be the Twilight quest chain in Mt. Hyjal.

I find the speech at the end to be funny and the concept of infiltration like it does is great.

The Tirion Fordring quest series back in Classic Eastern Plaguelands. I met him when he was just a hermit living out in exile after the Scourge of Lordaeron, then guided him to his glorious victory as leader of the Argent Crusade against the Lich King Arthas.

The character went on, throughout multiple expansions, all the way up to Legion–where Tirion Fordring died.

The gullible quest chain in legion.

Currently? Abby Lewis in Drustvar was the best in BFA.

Overall… probably the one that was taken out in Cataclysm that was based on Zelda. I still have the faded photograph somewhere.

Hard to say. Really liked the Wrathgate questline… The quest in Badlands where you get to punch Deathwing… The Runas quest chain… The Pamela Redpath quest chain… I really liked most of the DK start zone quests… the Borean Tundra quest with Thassarian’s sister… The one in Zul’Drak where you have to pretend to be a ghoul…

There’s definitely more I’m forgetting now but yeah, lots of good or at least fun ones. I’m bad at picking favorites. :stuck_out_tongue:

Until Wrath 2.0, where Tirion is brought back and serves the LK like Arthas served Ner’zhul!

Very tough. I greatly enjoyed the now (sadly) deleted quest chain for the legendary cloak in MoP. I thought the discussions within that quest chain on the nature of power to be interesting and very well written.
A completely old school (and removed) quest chain of rescuing the Warden from Black Rock Depths was a lot of fun, especially when you got to parade through Stormwind.
A complete overall favorite? Wow that is hard. I’ve enjoyed so many over the years. My guild does delight in finding each expansion’s obligatory poo related quest or quests. None of them are favorites, just amusing.

Crusader Bridenbard absolutely. Not even knowing the backstory of the quest and the real life persons involved, it’ll still get to ya, You wheel yourself around Azeroth in desperation to save a hero, until ultimately you find there’s nothing you or any of Azeroths more powerful denizens can do for them. They are going to die, but it’s not in vain as A’dal themself appears ready to bring one the Light’s Warriors to everlasting peace in the after-life.

It’s a touching tribute and one of the best quest chains in the entire game.

Another quest chain that always stuck with me was the tale of Smiling Jim in Theramore. You find this broken shell of a man are tasked with investigating the burning of his former inn, where his wife and child perished. Ultimately you bring peace to them after seeking retribution against those who have slain them. I hope Smiling Jim is with them in the after-life, given what happened to Theramore in Mists of Pandaria.

There’s the tragic tale of Mor’ladim. Brief as it may be, it’s a nice piece of lore and an interesting series of quests within Duskwood.

The aforementioned Fiona’s Caravan is now what I would consider a classic series of quests.

There’s just so many great stories and quest chains in WoW, it’d be hard to list all of them. Each zone always has something memorable. From deposing of Darkhan Dra’thir at the end of the Ghostlands, staving off the attack of the Bloodsail in Booty Bay, to finding yourself putting down an angry grief stricken widow in the Towlong Steppes. Each zone has its own story and I usually enjoy most of them.

Pretty much any questline with the Forsaken in Tirisfal, Silverpine, Gilneas, Hillsbrad, etc. I love the dark humor and sinister overtones.

I really enjoyed the old onyxia attunement quest chain - took you all over Azeroth.

And the whole of the Nargrand quests resulting in Thralls meeting with Garosh.

Hard to say but the quest chain for my now under used Dreadsteed and The Warlock Green Fire ones come to mind as does the Crusader Bridenbard one and shockingly enough the whole of the Chasing the Emerald dream quest chain that extended through out all of Kalamandor it seemed like pre-Cata.

Hmm let’s see kind of tough since I almost like all of them. But here’s few favorites.

Hinterlands Questing which is my favorite since they have the Celtic Dwarves there as well as the High Elf Rangers and Green Forest Trolls.

Duskwood Questing very spooky and setting was very creepy with the Worgen and Undead and now with the Dark Riders returning for the Legion Artifact Questlines in which I loved the Death Knight One.

Borean Tundra Questing had Thassarian Storyline with the San’layn Prince with the Lich King as well the Blue Dragonflight Story as well.

Terokkar Forest Questing had the Arakkoa, Old Warcraft 2 Alliance with High Elves, Draenei City of Shattrah, and Black Desert where there was once a Draenei Holy City was.

Vash’jir Questing was a underwater adventure fill of awesome beautiful sea creatures and very scary as heck when your under the sea. Plus it had the Best Naga Story too.

Eversong Forest Questing I never got tried of the Place including how beautiful Quel’thalas was.

Tons of good quests, but the Rambo quest line in Redridge was always fun.

And the entire zone of Vashj’ir to this day remains one of my favorite questing experiences.
