Favorite Era of Hunter?

What Era of WoW was everyones favorite for Hunters? To go further, which era for each spec specifically?

Was it Wrath of the Lich King for MM-centric Hunters? Cataclysm for BM Hunters? Maybe WoD for Survival Hunters?

If I had to answer for myself… MoP MM was great, WoD Survival was amazing, and… I’ve never really touched BM at all, so I can’t answer that one.

MM: Legion - Vuln windows are fun to play around, and marked shot is nice to see
BM: without skitra bow I’d say DF if savagery was removed
SV: DF

This is a hard one I going to say cata-WoD for range survival.

BM was fun during Legion but mostly because of how the artifact bow worked and how Dire Beast was a focus builder. Pet specs could also be changed during Legion. But we also lost some of the spells we had during Mists and WoD. I really preferred the way Camo worked during Wod / Mists. If I had to choose ONLY one? Probably Legion.

MoP was peak for Hunters. BM had more options in how to play so while it was easy to pick up, it didn’t feel as basic as it does now. Also, pets were less squishy and being able to change their specs was magical.

Wrath-WoD Survival.

The focus on ranged combat with augmentations to the projectiles/arrows you fired from your weapon, being the general theme. More specifically, the way they made it happen with explosives, poison, venom, even magic. It all fit that general theme so well, within the context of WoW.

Vanilla/TBC:

  • I really liked hunter pet talent trees, and where you had to actually care for your pet, train it, and catch other pets, or do content to learn new abilities to make your pet stronger. If you wanted a new one, you actually had to level your pet and it wasn’t instantly your level or your skill level.

Pandaria:

  • Minimum range removed from hunter weapons, making it way easier for hunter’s to be in close combat/stack
  • Ability to assign pet to Ferocity, Tenacity, Cunning so you canchoose what you want and keep your favorite skin out.

Legion:

  • The class fantasy felt amazing. It was soo cool to see amazing hunter’s everywhere and not feel so alone.

Shadowland’s S4:

  • YEAR OF SPEAR!!! Melee Survival felt sooo good.

While WOTLK was a great expac, this was the time I liked hunter the least. They had a major rework, and robbed hunter of most of their identity. Any time we got something cool, it got nerfed almost instantly.

I really hope Blizz reads something like this, since it feels like MOST ppl adore Legion MM Hunter. Survival is a bit all over the place, between Ranged lovers and Melee lovers, and BM is mixed too, but almost none of it has been SL/DF eras of these specs!

Legion.
Although I do have fun world PVP memories from MoP. Loved me some Powershot.
I remember Blinkstrikes being really powerful too. I just forget which era. I think it was early MoP.

God I wish blinkstrikes came back just for our pets to be able to teleport and help fix some of the godawful pathing issues

And for MM, last season of WoD. The insta aimed shots were so fun.

I enjoyed Vanilla MM. That was my first Main for Raiding and PvP before I switched to Healing and Tanking. I can’t say that I had an entire expansion of Hunter that was my absolute favorite but I really enjoyed some times of

TBC BM - I abused the hell out of Rank 4 Poison on a Scorpid
TBC Survival - I was a Chain CC machine in dungeons.
MM Cata (fully geared)
MOP MM for WPvP
WoD MM/SV
Legion Survival - It was new and I liked the axes.
Legion MM was fun except for WPvP and Sidewinders. I hated cleaving half a zone and aggroing everything.
