Favorite dungeon?

One of the awesome things about Vanilla is how the 5-man dungeons felt a lot more epic. There was no map detailing the entire place, you couldn’t pull 6 packs of mobs and AoE them all down in an instant, and you had to use a lot more strategy in general. They often had large epic quest chains associated with them that gave you the background of the place and why you’re venturing in there. These quest chains often gave you a blue item at the end which would last you for quite awhile.

Scarlet Monastery has always been one of my personal favorites, the Scarlet Crusade is a cool faction and the concept of it being split up into 4 different wings, starting in the late 20s-early 30s Graveyard section all the way up to the mid 40s where you enter the Cathedral itself. You always had something to look forward to here. What a cool place.

SM is my favorite. Very fun to tank.

Deadmines has to be my favorite because it was my first, I ran it way way too much and I still enjoyed it. Besides that though… I really liked strat live.

Oh I also have a fondness for sfk

Stratholme, either side. It has a great atmosphere, good loot for basically every role, generally a quick dungeon to run, and some solid gold can be farmed there.

BRD… pure epic dungeon experience.

Mechanically, BRD.
Lore-wise, SFK.

Strat dead, all day, every day.

Wanna give a shoutout to the Blackrock Mountain and Plagueland dungeons for being so enormously huge and complex.

Personally I loved the old shadowfang keep. I rember fighting that huge worg in the circular room. I never knew how much lore was actually in that place until after cata. I was upset when they changed out the worgs and worgen for undead.

Alert! Alert! Nostalgia detected!

SM and BRD.

I like the “puzzle” aspect of ST. And ZF for the stairs and having to do the big quest chain for the mallet.

Having joined in late BC, I never got to experience many classic dungeons with a real party or not being over-leveled. Current game dungeons are an absolute joke given all the free quest handouts and overpowered heirloom gear.
I’m looking forward to doing them all with under-geared players that actually need the gear so there is more challenge and real incentive to communicate rather than just powering through it for the exp and not saying a word.

I never did a lot of dungeon crawling back in the day, but BRD still stays with me. EPIC barely fits it. You get lost in there. It usually takes forever to get through it, many levels, tons of quests associated with it, the lore is dope… I could go on.

I really liked Sunken Temple. Though SM was probably my favorite.

Scarlet monastery for sure
