done the excavation for this gem twice now, neither time has it dropped. Blizzard, you need to fix this. Now!

The event is bugged and despite all the creative solutions to avoid it bugging, so far, it seems to be about a 1 in 10 chance it doesn’t, for no reason you can avoid/predict. It’s just… buggy.
The bonus objective marker for the quest is miss-aligned with the cave that the boss spawns in, and as such, there are a ton of places inside the cave where the boss can move that will out-range the bonus objective and cause it to despawn, at which point no rewards are given for the kill. It happens 70-80% of the time because the boss charges all over the place
Here’s one I didn’t get it and now the game is trying to say I got it because I can only get crate of bygone riches. So am I just screwed out getting the gem forever?

As pointed out, you did get it. But if somehow you have credit for getting it but you don’t actually possess it, the credit unlocks buying one from the appropriate vendor, so it would be a non-problem.

Bug still on-going. Nothing we do on US-Illidan seems to prevent it from auto disappearing the second the cave opens. Objective immediately blips from existence.
this is still broken. while fighting Stalagnarok we either get teleported out or we kill him and don’t get credit for the Fathomdweller’s Runed Citrine gem.
please fix this. this is a best in slot gem for a lot of people and you shouldn’t have released content to the game that isn’t completable due to a bug like this.

you should be able to buy it from the vendor I think
you can’t buy the gem from the vender until at least one of your toons has gotten the gem. and then, you must get the boss down the correct way in order for the event to count. it was bugged for me as well the other day, tried all day that day, finally gave up. then very early the next morning, i was able to kill that boss without the event bugging out, not sure what changed ?, my first thought was blizz did a hot fix?. spec after i turned right around from first fight, and got the last gem for the upgraded gem. then…sure enough…everyone after that was having the event bug out. deff bugged for sure.
but there are 2 gems that I was able to buy off the vendor that I definitely did not get before, I think they are from Naga stuff which is next week. They don’t count towards the achievement though

That was part of the hotfix and was only for those 2 gems. I believe those 2 would’ve been from the special assignment weekly for the different enemy types.
Yes. The hotfix was just about the timegated citrines stuck behind the next two week’s enemy faction assaults. Those were unlocked at the vendor.
The rest are were available in the first week as drops or quest rewards and therefore the vendor unlock was unchaged: you have to loot the first before it becomes available at a vendor for you to send to alts.
worked for me on the first attempt after the weekly reset. not sure if it’s perma-fixed though.
They did NOT fix the bug bonus objective on weekly reset. but why?

Stop using the holidays as an excuse to defend blizzard. They have worked holidays for Race for World First, but since we are not that they do not care about us.
