What is the drop rate on this gem?? Killed the boss 7 times now and still no drop?? This is such a pain in the…Been in the event area farming this for almost an hour now, i really despise this kind of content and the time gating aspect of it

It’s not the droprate thats bugged. The gem is tied to the event, and the event is broken beyond belief and ending itself before you actually kill the mob.

The event is buggy as hell.
It’s being triggered to end before the mobs dies and so the reward gets removed before you can kill him.
Some people said it’s because of the cave collapse error, but I managed to kill him without getting the error and still nothing.
It’s just broken
This, basically. I was lucky enough to get it after my 3rd kill, but yeah event’s buggy af rn.
Iv’e had both things happen, (getting kicked out) and no gem drops for killing him
The trick is apparently for EVERYONE to run to the back of the room before pulling and stay away from the cave entrance. If he is killed without ever going near the entrance he drops the gem.
At least that’s what people said in the group I was in where the gem dropped.
Just did this with a small group. We kept him in the corner to the left the entire fight and still no gem.
Blizzard really needs to fix this.

The only time I’ve had it not break so far is when there was a longer-than-normal delay between event restarts.
Dollars to donuts that something about triggering the event so quickly after the previous one is causing it to hoop itself. Likely a cascading reset timer that isn’t fixing itself between triggers.
Hopefully there will be a quick hotfix on this issue. Quite the pain when you just want to be done with this ring and cant get the one gem you need.
The trick that actually works is simple. Keep doing it until you get it.
The storm bringer gem, I had to do the event like 6 times. Then I just stood in front of it and the moment it came up again, I just got the first gem into my inventory.
The second one took me 2 times. You just gotta pray to get it I guess.
The tanks I was with pulled him to the back and we kept yelling at the huntards to turn off pet taunt. Everyone got the gem.

Just got my gem by standing outside the cave while a group pulled him. I sent my pet in and stayed outside. Did no damage to the boss myself.
My pet despawned so I resummoned and sent him back in, boss died before he reached him, and I got the gem.
No idea how I made it work but I’m just glad I don’t have to touch that buggy mess again

I’ve observed if pets are constantly taunting it, it’ll drop the event.
So far when it’s dropped for me, it’s also been at the back of the cave.
3 Chars now and this is what I’ve seen.
Yes, the rare must be tanked at the far back of the cave and all pet taunts must be disabled.
How is this still not fixed? I’ve done this event multiple times. Killed the mob inside the cave, gotten Bronze Celebration tokens, Flame blessed irons, no citrine.
Every other citrine dropped / unlocked without issue. The one that’s actually needed? bugged.
All the retail people have to work on the holidays, then you have the Calfornian Blizzard bums who leave stuff bugged for months and take November and December off as holidays.
Still broken, this is a freaking joke.
