Father’s day is coming and I was thinking, did anyone notice how the father figure in wow are usually absent and badly represented?
Thrall had a son (Durak, I only found out his name because of wowwiki) and after he was born we never ever get to see them together again. Poor Aggra and Durak. Turalyon abandoned Arathor the Redeemer to join a space goat holy crusade, Velen abandoned Rakish and her wife (unintentionally but still did). Malfurion only sleeps, not really sure if he consider Shandris his daughter or plain ignores her existence, his interactions when the trio are together are always directed to Tyrande only (not sure if intended).
Moira had a hard time with Magni too (but at least they got a comic to show some development and closing). Jaina found redemption and peace for her past actions with Daelin and I thought it was good in most parts.
I think the only father I could ever relate to was Rhonin with Vereesa and his twin kids, Giramar and Galadin. Too bad he’s dead.
everyday is father’s day. everyday is mother’s day. everyday is ‘i love you’ day.
stop with the ‘it only happens once a year’ scam you’re used to. live like you care everyday about the few things you pretend to care about once a year.
The date is coming and that makes me think about fathers in wow lore, just that. I just wish they had more character depth and development, like Nocht said, some diversity would be cool.
Because we live in a society where media and the entertainment industry don’t care about men. They will celebrate women but anything to do with a man nope.
Hmmm… Well you see the factions are in constant war… Usually there are more male soldiers than female in a fantasy setting so… I don’t know… I mean it’s not getting more obvious than this.
