Switched to DK because the class in general is in a terrible spot. Bugs and tuning aside, Fatebound may be the worst offender. Pointless animation. Chore RNG mechanic. Makes 0 sense with the spec. A hero talent tree filled with flat stat increases would be more interesting.
I agree, throw Trickster in there, too, though. These both missed the mark on theme, animation, and incorporation with the specs. Death stalker is salvageable with more work, I’d say.
Bottom line is they need to dedicate as many resources to Rogues as other classes otherwise we’ll always end up in horrible positions for long periods of expansions. Look what they’re doing with Dark Ranger, they can’t think of some secret agent/operative or anything that could work better than low effort tropes that have no tie to WoW lore?
Sorry but get in line. Paladins need another rework first.
I actually kinda like the little coin flip - but yes in comparison to other trees or in practice it just doesn’t feel…good?
Even being able to pretty much guarantee getting the 7 flip really early on as a Night Elf it’s just cumbersome to play around to get and then isn’t impactful feeling.
Hero Talents for Rogue are pretty bad in general tbh.
Deathstalker requires Stealth to even use, and people dont like using Vanish as a dps CD.
I like fatebound.
ya’ll acting like the flip matters and changes your rotation / playstyle. It doesn’t.
ya’ll acting like you want our tree to be more active buttons than some pretty decent passives. It shouldn’t.
I’d accept Fatebound if 1) the theme made sense anywhere in WoW lore for Rogues. 2) the animation was a coin the size of Razsageth’s platform every time it flipped and was more distracting and disruptive to play than DK’s defile so everyone knows that I’m a Fatebound Rogue dripping theme out my rear.
To be clear I do not want any more button presses - I like that it’s passive.
The RNG of it all is one major thing I think really sucks.
Edit: I will say playing to more tonight I figured out some good interactions to get a 7 flip right away in the fight and maximize uptime on multiple buffs. However…it is exclusive to Night Elves so. Feel bad for everyone else lol
Nah, I want our tree to actually effect our rotation and regular class/spec trees in a fun and engaging way, not just flip a coin.
It really isn’t that bad though. every finisher gives you a flip. the result of the flip doesn’t matter. you keep doing your rotation. The more you flip, the less the rng.
I don’t think that’s how it works…more flips means the distribution would normalize to 50/50…
Exactly!
It’s not a change to your rotation, it’s a buff 100% every time, every flip!
doesn’t require more active abilities. Just do your rotation. same with trickster, that tree just needs a little tweaking.
