Something I have thought about since that video was first shown is the actual possibility of Ursoc’s death. Ara’lon doesn’t know what he represents or is capable of, nor really the mechanics of souls beyond the rebirth bits. Something I noted is that the lack of Anima actually does not seem to be an issue for souls. Early on in Revendreth, this is kind of confirmed. Anima isn’t spirit, so lack of Anima does not erase you. In addition, seeds with nature magic can last an extremely long time and go through a lot of damage and still function, see the hyjal questline and all of the damage being healed by Aessina just through some surviving seeds.
So, it’s unlikely Ursoc is dead. His seed is just dormant, but spirit itself is immortal. In addition, when Ursoc was resurrected originally, it was not through Ardenweald mechanics. It was through the sapling of Vordrassil and Furbolg Shamans, and he was corrupted by Vordrassil’s old god presence. Nordrassil however, has been restored to it’s former glory back in 4.2. In addition, Ursol, the brother of Ursoc, is alive and has shamanistic abilities. Does anyone else see the possibility that Ursoc may not actually be perma dead? Personally, I would hope he isn’t, because WoW really hasn’t done enough with him to make his death impactful. Besides, he was the first wild god to really introduce the idea that they are eternal and unkillable. Through the many different retcons even before Ardenweald on what happened when Wild Gods died, that was true. They were eternal and would reform because of nature itself.
bears are like the most overpopulated trash mob in the game
goodnight sweet prince, may the thousands more i killed for pelts and flanks join you in eternity
fun fact, I have actually done that stuff on the Beta. So far, Ursoc’s not there. Klasing is a quest designer IIRC: maybe thats a future idea, maybe not. I don’t think after how big this got, that they’ll do that. If only because the actual pods you farm are repeatable, and eventually someone having 5 different Ursoc’s coming out of all the seeds at once will ruin it lmao.
Tbf, they actually retconned basically all ‘permanent’ deaths that happened to Loa as well. What was permanent in BfA is not true anymore.
YEAH BUT AT LEAST SHE KEEPS COMING BACK LMAO. Edit: I do think she gets too much kills though. Shadra is really cool when you look into her, but its the same issue as Ursoc. A lot of the cool stuff about them just isn’t represented in the game.
He’s being replaced by Vol’jin iirc. Not perfect, but at least he’s being replaced by someone more Horde aligned. Loa have been more relevant in 2 xpacs than Ancients ever have been lmao.
So he’s permanently removed from the story? Which is to say that the Horde is permanently losing one of their gods, something the Alliance does not, has not, and will never suffer?
The night elves(and all of us) have just lost Ursoc. The draenei have been losing Naaru left and right. The rest of the Alliance doesnt have anything comparable to “gods” to actually lose.
Wait, do you consider Ursoc an Alliance God or not? Cause you were just arguing he is, and now the Alliance “does not, has not” lost a god? Even if they do revive Ursoc in the future, he’s still died twice in the story.
We don’t even know for certain Rezan isn’t coming back at this point. We know he’s got some gambit going with Vol’jin, and that’s it.
Which, reminds me, why do you consider Urosc an “Alliance God” to begin with? Ursoc hasn’t done anything for the Alliance, nor the night elves for that matter. He’s the furbolgs god, and as far as we know, there aren’t furbolg members of the Alliance, just one or two tribes that are friends with members, like the Stillpine or the Darkshore tribe.
I’m going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you also exclude the August Celestials.
But I still disagree, Ursoc is not a night elf god, he’s a Furbolg one. Ursoc hasn’t done anything to make calling him a nelf god true, his interactions with mortals thus far have been with furbolgs, the players raid party, and that time he befriended a Highmountain tauren and bless Eagletalon.
Always throws me when someone calls me Tim.
But honestly adding “Permanently” does nothing for your case. That’s just your assumption that it’ll definitely happen. As of now, the only Wild Gods we don’t know are coming back are Rezan and Ursoc, and you only assume Ursoc is definitely coming back.
EDIT:
I mean, if interaction is what you want, he’s interacted with the Highmountain and blessed their most holy artefact, why wouldn’t he also be considered tied to the Horde through the Highmountain tauren?
