Fate of Dalaran feels...stupid

I am hoping a future Expansion will undo this nonsense in the same way Dragonflight undid the no more Aspects things.

Dalaran was destroyed because 1) it got invaded 2) it was effectively a military fortress that fell into a trap.(which when it acted as one during Legion was to OUR BENEFIT)

Having a centralized location for mages to study is A BENEFIT. It is effectively a centralized location for people to study and learn(you know what NU-Kirin Tor is still planning on doing). Like a COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY.

If anything this entire quest chain is trying to teach the wrong lesson. Dalaran as a city should be rebuilt HOWEVER it should also have made a smaller more mobile fotress for itself to fight future wars(and not drag the civilian population into war). And dont get me started in “no more meddling in world affairs” if Dalaran did that, Deathwing would have destroyed the Alliance!

Also “everyone should be equal/there shouldnt be a council” so when the next Kel’thusad pop up no one can tell them “no”?

I expected a Dalaran rebuild mobile game where you earn resources and build it back up the way you wanted while fighting invading enemies trying to bring it back down. You can spend real money to quicken your pace or get special weapons/defenses!

Honestly, Warcraft should have made a city building game A LONG TIME AGO. But I digress.

I am still of the opinion that the majority of dalaran got teleported someplace via void chicanery and that it will be part of a future patch, potentially as a part of a dungeon or raid, or at the very least we’ll be able to bring it back (somehow).

At least according to this quest chain a majority of the Dalaran mages are dead.

I made that on Warcraft 3 custom map back in the day, it was like SNES Sim City. I scrapped it because it was boring and I didn’t know how to progress it.

mages are a dime a dozen. we’ll just make new ones.

Actually it was a Road Runner thing. The Road Runner will run off a cliff, the Coyote will follow, the Road Runner stops, the Coyote stops, the Road Runner points down, the Coyote sees he standing on nothing, looks at the camera and falls from the sky.

What happened was that Xan’alath pointed down. Who puts a floating city up in the air with nothing to support it?

The problem with councils is, in order to silence them, you have to plan 5 ways to do it. One voice is much easier to eliminate.

Khadgar is back with no harm. So its obvious Dalaran was not destroyed but simply teleported or stored somewhere. I guarantee it will be back.

While a cool cinematic, I still don’t like what they did because they made it seem easy to Xal’atath, with no magic one time use restriction or anything required. Like, why didn’t she just go around sending all the major cities into the void, is she stupid? No one could stop her. Obviously this just happened due to plot to make her look powerful without any thought to the consequences. She should have just sent the sunwell into the void. GG Azeroth.

Probably not for at least 10-15 years or so. Someone somewhere wanted to make their mark on the lore and get rid of Dalaran for good, regardless of whether or not it makes sense. Probably there’s someone at Blizzard right now who doesn’t really like Dalaran all that much and isn’t a fan of the idea of a “city of mages.”

Nah, it’s pretty clearly 100% destroyed. There’s literally pieces of rubble from almost every part of Dalaran present in the wreckage. It’s intended to be the absolute end of Dalaran forever.

I love that idea!

There’s no capital city in northrend for the final titan at this point.

I suspect it will be “New Dalaran”

Dalamar. Less spires, more spikes.

Lemme grab my torch.

Real talk tho, isn’t there a “dead”/infected world tree in Northrend?

Kirin Tor go away. Let the races that aren’t humans and high/blood elves have mage lore and development for awhile.

Let mage lore and development take a backseat for a while.

It was chopped down, furbolgs live in the stump. They all went crazy and I think we helped them get better though.

They are setting up that one super world tree though. Probably on the arathi continent.
