Fastest way to level?

When leveling alts would timewalk dungeons be the fastest way to 70?

Yes. Timewalking dungeons are the fastest way to level alts.

If you’re a tank or healer, yea the instant ques will be way faster for leveling

Timewalking and then when you’re not in a TW dungeon you kill random mobs or if you’re Earthen you fly around exploring zones.

The only reason to quest in Retail is for gear and rep, no other reason.

Dungeons in general are the fastest way to level your characters.

I reached 1-70 in 4 1/2 hours on a survival hunter by questing using Draught of Ten Lands, Warmode, and the 25% Warband bonus XP. So, with the right class and bonuses, an optimal leveling route is faster than dungeons.

Otherwise, the rule of thumb is tank/healer = dungeon spam, DPS = questing while queueing. If you aren’t comfortable with making your own route, I’d suggest using the Azeroth Pilot Reloaded addon, or check out some leveling record runs.

I leveled my hunter faster by just killing mobs and doing TW. Everything scales, zero reason to quest.

This, but if you want to play as DPS and the queues are long you can do world quests/quests in the Dragonflight zones in between timewalking queues popping, too.

The state of leveling…

Personally, Im leveling a druid 70-80 questing and running delves.

It’s been like that for awhile now honestly. Random dungeon finder has always been one of the best ways to level for like at least a decade now.

Yep, TW with questing in between.

For quests anything MoP+ seems to have pretty smart questing hubs (3-5 quests interacting/killing/collecting things around there)

One of the fastest speedlevelers around uses quests in the open world, especially in WoD, so I’m not sure if I buy that. Dungeons would have slowed my run, especially with the unknown variable of a random group where scaling could mean the difference of a few minutes.

What do you think is faster, standing where you are and killing hyper spawns next to you without having to move or traveling around turning in quests?

When I was leveling my Hunter I didn’t have time to complete quests with TW, the queues were only like 3 minutes.

Anyway, go ahead and quest if you think it’s better lol.

I’d believe you with a /played that beats mine or the most recent speedruns on YT using optimal quest routes.

Aren’t those speedruns usually solo runs? So that you don’t have optimal speedrun being “have someone boost you”

Yes. I’m referring to solo leveling here.

Time walking is pretty fast

Also…Team USA hockey team :joy:

There is something else to speed levellers. I’ve done what you’ve said aswell and when it’s done right it is faster. I find I need to be in the zone. (Favourite one to do is Guardian Druid using APR and consumes beforehand.)

With that said I could see some friends who doing questing could be slower for.

Yeah, APR is my go-to when I just want to multitask and level an alt in the background, which tanks or pet classes are good for. I recently tried leveling a rogue though and oh my god, never again. The class definitely matters a lot!
