Hey guys. I haven’t properly played WoW since Wrath of the Lich King and I’m wondering what the easiest way to level professions is right now?
I have a lvl 120 character boost that I used on a night elf warrior and I was hoping to level mining/skinning because thats my favorite.
I found a guide and it told me to go to Nagrand and farm there, but nothing here is giving me experience. so, where should I be farming then?? wheres the fastest places to level mining/skinning?

You do everything by xpac now. So if you want to level BFA skinning you skin in those zones. So Nagrand would need Outland or WoD skinning training.

Which mining? each expac varies for here.
For example: 1 to 60 (now) mining requires either holding off on dark fair +5 mining quest till 295. Or…some dungeon runs to smelt a special ore in black rock. 1 to 60 (now) tops off at 295 no matter you do for open world stuff.
generally if an expac has okay rock and good rock…later levels need more good rock.
Skinning levels easy-ish. Go kill lots of animals mobs and skin.
idk what you mean “which mining” :’) I have 1-75 right now and im lvl 120, I have shadowlands xpac and all xpacs leading up to it
You don’t need to level it at all to do Shadowlands crafting. Each expansion’s crafting tier is its own thing now that has no prerequisites other than participating in said expansion.
I dont want to craft though I just want to gather to make money.
Okay, well even so, wherever you want to gather and sell from has no prerequisites anymore. For example you don’t need vanilla mining to gather in the outlands.
so what youre saying is there is no point in leveling any professions??
I can just craft/gather whatever I want regardless of lvl?
which Nagrand?
Nagrand Outland, or Nagrand Draenor?
If you’re talking about Outland, you’d need to go visit the trainer to learn Outland mining/skinning before you start gaining skill points.
If you’re talking about Draenor, you should get an item drop from the first few gathering attempts, which you need to read/learn in order to learn the skill
Well no. You still need a certain level within each tier to unlock the higher recipes, or in the case of gathering, special nodes.
you do if you want to gain skill points and learn how to do things like smelt.
Each expac has a mining. YOu see each expac’s mining trainer to learn this. Except WoD and legion, those you “find” via RNG in skill book drops or mining it gives a small quest to see trainer.
1 to 60
Wrath
Outland
etc…
all have their own mining skill to level.
If you mine in wrath you only level wraths mining.
The only universal aspect to mining is xp for leveling. You will always get xp if leveling with just basic 1 to 60 mining. However…mining only with now 1 to 60 classic mining skill and not taking the say BFA mining upgrade (from mining trainers) means mining never levels.
Really? I was certain they changed that…
Oh well, thank you for correction then. My bad.
I do my skinning for 1 to 300 in wetlands. Bunch of dragonkin that keep re-spawning. They also can drop dark whelping and crimson whelping.
After you learn classic skinning you need to go to each expansion zone and learn the others (except cata you can learn in Org). Then you will begin to get points.
So, I think what you’re asking is this…
Each expansion now has their own profession.
Skinning and mining, classic you learn in any major city.
You’re a Belf so hit Org.
TBC hit Shatt to learn.
Wrath you go to Dalaran.
Cata can be done in Org.
Mop is a touch complicated just ask any of the NPCs, where the trainers are since they’re not all in one location.
WoD comes from taping a node or skinning a beast. You’ll get a drop .
Legion is in Legion’s Dalaran.
BfA is around the giant pyramid. As a guard.
Now for efficiently farming to level use

Hope this helps.
Really would wait til after the squish for professions since it seems likely they will make the older expansion filling in even more worthless than they already have.
You can level up your BFA skills without even doing any of the prior expansions beyond picking up level 1 in the starting zone.
Each Xpac has its own tier that you must be trained for. Just training in Org or SW wont do it anymore. Make sure you’re speaking with trainers specific to an Xpac. Find Legion Trainers in Dalaran, BFA trainers in Dazar’alor and Tiragarde Sound(cant remember exact area in TS, dont play Alliance much). And then you level that tier of profession by farming around the Xpac area.
