Fastest way to level a warrior?

I realize this is classic and nothing is quick… but I’d like to optimize my alotted play time to hit 60. I’ve already farmed 140g for my mount by level 28 lol, so now I just want to steam roll to 60.

Any suggestions on the quickest method?

Edit: my level shown is wrong, I’m level 32.

Sit by dungeons and tank cleave groups.

I keep my eyes open for SM groups looking for tanks, but is tanking really the fastest method of leveling?

Doesn’t seem very time optimal.

When you have 3 other DPS cleaving down groups for you, yes.

Correct me if I’m wrong but that really only sounds viable if you have a group ready to spam SM for 6 hours. Filling groups wastes a lot of time if your just sitting outside dungeons.

Pay a Chinese kid to level for you…

Quest, run dungeons, put in the work, there is no quick way.

It really does. If you are unable to organize groups that will spam run with you, prior to logging, then spam running dungeons will likely not be the most optimal, even SM instances, which are typically pretty easy to fill.

There are a bunch of guides out there with optimal strategies for warrior leveling, including which areas to do quests, what levels and when grinding is faster vs questing, and which and when to do instances. I have not tested them all, so I can’t recommend one over another in that sense.

Hakurai’s leveling guide (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=akqzzAA7F08) is supposed to be pretty good, and I think it’s available for free (for Alliance only).

One thing I would say that seems to greatly speed things up, leveling as a warrior is questing with someone else. Obviously, if you have heals, that’s amazing, but I found even grouping with a Hunter for example, that quests went much, much quicker, and we were able to pull and kill more and faster, than solo.

Use your gold to hire a 60 mage to run you through dungeons. Include people your level or less. More low levels brings the average level down and you get better xp.

I think that is correct. You really want a group ready to spam the same dungeons up to the reset limit, and then spam the next nearest lvl dungeon, and so on. I think, anyway. I have only been in one such group, but I didn’t enjoy that repetition.

I agree with that approach. When I was leveling my warrior that is the approach I used more than dungeons. It is still slower than leveling some other toons. I have leveled a mage to lvl 45 using joker’d approach of aoe grinding (as best I could) and reached lvl 45 in 96 hours less time than I did on this warrior toon. Mage was 10D and warrior was 14D, following basically same line of questing AND leveling 5 professions to 250+ each (this probably added 4 to 5 Days for each toon, I estimate.

[Edit add: plus, with both toons I LIKE doing quests and exploring zones, so I was not trying to actually speed level either toon. Joker’d’s record was about 3D11H if I remember right for his undead mage. So I am much slower than that. But I don’t think he did any dungeons at all, but he had a support group that called him into new groups to constantly change layers, then he would grind mobs again and again.]

if you have a lvl 60 friend that can solo SM/ZF?

Yes you are wrong, to a degree. You will be sitting outside/UC so that the group making is easier, don’t invite people in Kargath to your SM group, that will kill your xp/hr. Getting the group made and to the dungeon will easily be the most time consuming part, unless you can pick up another 4 players in the area. That said finding a competent group will be the most impactful on your farming.

It does. Traveling to an instance though, waste a lot more time.

This. Helps tremendously when looking for a dungeon too. Have a buddy that heals? Finding 3 dps will only take one /LF3M DPS to get filled.

While it doesn’t sound the most fun, dungeon spamming is the fastest way to level. Unless you have your guides all figured out, know where to go exactly, and don’t get sidetracked, questing/following a guide won’t be as fast as mashing your face numb against SM for 10 levels.

Not really. You can start any group and not be anywhere near the instance and just keeping grinding. Loot is all yours if no party member nearby, or put the party on community loot until the dungeon run starts.

Tank dungeons. All you need to do is type Tank LFG in the LookingForGroup channel and you’ll get bombed by messages.

That doesn’t work consistently, unfortunately.

/join lookingforgroup
/lookingforgroup LVL XXX tank here looking for an dungeon i can get EXP from.

Fastest way? Don’t care just level and stop thinking about rushing.

The quickest way is to have a dedicated dungeon farming group prepared to run with you non-stop all day every day.

The second quickest way is optimized questing routes using the method of killing all mobs your level or 1-2 levels below you on your way to and from questing areas and questgiver areas.

The trick to really making your xp/hour hum is to kill every mob in that level range that you see, and to be walking backwards towards the next mob you’ll kill while fighting the current one. You don’t have to stand still while fighting.

Feed it gear, gold, and level in dungeons. Start as Fury then go Fury 2H once you obtain the 2hd mace from DM. You will use that until 30 and get your Whirlwind Axe done switch to Arms at 40. Farm SM until you get the Ravager you will use it at times to 60. While in 52+ you can go back to Fury DW for faster soloing but I recommend doing dungeons for BIS items.
