I’m doubling back to Legion for some transmog items I never got, and on my DH I never did Legion, so I’m neutral for all factions. Aren’t there purchasable items to boost your rep? If not, what’s the speediest way to grind rep? I could have sworn that there were ways implemented before BFA to quickly gain rep with the factions. Can anyone shed any light on this?
Quests, always quests! Be a completionist!
Nightborne you get very close to exalted just by doing the whole (huge) Suramar questline. I barely world quested and I was exalted with them before finishing the quests.
Aside from the questline, I’m pretty certain I remember getting a whole heap of rep from the Withered scenario. At 120 you’ll basically reduce every hostile in there to dust by breathing on them
As someone who also doubled back to legion content as soon as I hit 120, there really isn’t anything in the way of rep tokens or boosts or anything. It does seem like the generally increased the rep gained from quests/world quests/legion invasions though. I noticed that I was getting a lot of 250-250 rep gains especially from the latter two. Nightborne in particular you get a lot of rep from the “Insurrection” achievement storyline.
That being said I honestly find it extremely aggravating that allied races are locked behind this obnoxiously excessive rep grind wall. They use the allied races as a marketing piece when promoting the expansions, but you aren’t even paying that $50 to get those races. You’re paying $50 for the opportunity to grind daily quests to eventually unlock those races. I think it’s absolutely ridiculous, especially for races from a previous expansion. WoW is literally the only MMO that locks characters you paid for behind a grind wall.
I’ve seen a lot of players defend the model, usually with the argument of “oh we’ll be thankful that Blizz is giving you something to work for and keep you playing”. But…they already do plenty of that. They give you so much to grind and work for: mounts, pets, titles, achievements, better gear, transmog stuff, mythic runs, etc. Why make something that’s 99% cosmetic, and a selling point of the expansion one of those things too? Just make the damn races unlocked at the start. Can you imagine the outrage if back when BC and MoP came out that Blood Elves, Draenei, and Pandas were locked behind a grind wall despite literally being the poster children for their respective expansions?
Whew…got a little ranty there. But like I said there’s not much you can do to boost rep gain. But make sure you complete the each zones storyline to get a decent chunk of rep. And be as diligent about doing world quests and legion invasions as you can.
get halfway through the nightfallen questline than grind WQ till you are revered than just do the rest of the questline.
Mizura, while I agree with everything your saying, back then, the game had a completely different Development Team, with completely different design philosophies, a much higher level of knowledge, skills and abilities, took pride in their work and did not use deceptive wording in advertising to deceive customers. Unfortunately THAT Blizzard is long gone.
Yea. Pretty unfortunate that the Blizzard people respected pretty much died with MoP.
I know that this thread is 2 months old, but if you have other characters that you actively played Legion content, send out the follower missions in their class hall every time Nightfallen and Legionfall rep token rewards pops up, and mail them all to your DH.
Also, besides from doing emissaries for Nightfallen and Legionfall, make sure to do the Kirin Tor emissaries for bonus rep tokens on your DH for extra rep tokens.
However, do NOT “use” them right away - stock them all up and wait until Darkmoon Faire comes around, go ride the merry-go-round for the rep bonus buff, only then use all the rep tokens you have = profit.
Quests and Legion Mission Table.
And that’s about it. At least with Highmountain you can just chain run Neltharions Vault over and over.
You do know they have increased the mount of rep from WQ for Nightfallen/Highmoutain Tauren/Argusian Reach/Army of the Light. And plus, it isn’t that much of a grind now to back in Legion when things were opening up after each patch.
most people were exalted with the required factions when they bought BFA. (for legion ARs)
Army of light and void elves rep rains down and all legion rep gains have been increased. Its obvious blizzard wont shift of the rep requirements.
Couldn"t agree more!! As a casual player, that has a life, this is WAY too time consuming!! It seems that Blizzard is more and more concerned about the grind then anything else. And,yes, this is an obvious marketing tool… come back and play some exciting new races…that will take forever to unlock!!!
I wish I didn’t have to level an ally toon then get exalted Argussian Reach to unlock void elf.
