dungeons are unfortunately easier to get gear.

In order for you to get gear in PvP, you have to:

  1. Grind out 500 Conquest. And if you are ahead of the curve, you can even be locked out of gaining ANY conquest points until a week later.

  2. RNJesus. You “sometimes” will get a 390 blue backpiece or something for winning a BG or arena. Could also get an epic, but it’s rare. Again, RNJesus.

  3. Warfronts. Just do the warfronts to gain a certain ilvl, then wait for the heroic Stromguard to pop and get your free 430.

PvE is just way easier. Typically a run of 20-30 mins of anything M+5 or higher will net you 400+ ilvl gear, and a chance at a decent item in your weekly box. It’s all about efficiency. Not to mention, other than Trinkets, PvE gear comes with additional stats that put items above PvP equivalent ilvl gear. And because of that, even if your pvp gear has a higher ilvl (even WITH a socket), a lot of times the PvE gear is just better because of the addition proc’s or use mods on them.
