I just came back, mainly for classic, but getting the itch to do arenas. However im terribly undergeared and only played a short bit in season 1 after getting 2100 (felt defeated with how titles work, makes me feel like anyone can get duelist now) and i find it hard to do arenas without the proper gear beforehand. Though it seems like this is the only reasonable way?
Farming regular bgs is completely devastating also, only rewarding gear a few more itlvl, and quite frankly not worth the time. At least thats how it feels.
TLDR. Am i better farming arena, or random bgs for gear? Arena seems really hard and no one wants to play with a potato geared healer, and bgs seem like they take days just to get a chance at gear i already have.
Side note: looking for friends to play with in voice so i can have more fun than just doing yolos. Drop btags if interested. Im chill, non rager and love good vibes. I also have the iq of a brick so please be patient with me lol
I only have 3 paladins at max rn. Leveling takes forever if not longer than gearing for me. But i was thinking of leveling my other 5 paladins… if i somehow get a team.

I dinged 120 on my other druid Sunday, and yesterday I hit 419ilvl… Capped arena twice, 1 mythic+10 and benthic pieces bought by my other toons. Gearing doesn’t take long at all to get to 420 at least… And my neck is like 57

This is true, but keep in mind that the OP just returned and most likely doesn’t have the friends to run him though higher level mythics.
OP, what I would suggest doing is get into a mythic 0 group after getting some benthic gear to get a base ilvl. From there, make groups using the pre made group finder and do the mythic key you got to drop. What is good about making your own groups for mythic keys is your ilvl doesn’t really matter and filling the group is fairly easy. You can speed this up even more if you tank on your pally while gearing up.
Yes, it’s dumb you have to do pve for pvp, but unfortunately it’s what we have to work with nowadays.
To answer your original question directly, arena is the better way to gear over battlegrounds. With that said, mythic + is far superior in terms of gearing over both the pvp options listed. I enjoy playing with rets on my MW and am currently gearing my alt MW on ally. I’d be down to grind some games out if interested.
If you want to play some I need to cap and gear my dh(425 low cr, like 1550. Not many games played) some more. Can never find consistent healers to play with and I’m still getting used to dosing instead of getting when I do get the chance.
