Fastest way to gear up after long absence

So, I haven’t touched SL since dinging 60 and discovering that I found Covenants, etc to be VERY boring and just leveling alts through all the old xpacs that I wasn’t around for to be much more satisfying. Now that 9.2.5 is out, I really want to enjoy the Tirisfal Glades questline, but I’m discovering that I get KO’d by a single slime within seconds. What’s the most efficient way to gear up so I can at least quest without easily dying?

Buy crafted off AH ilevel 200.
Should also be many 226’s greens on there as well.

Let’s assume that I’m dirt poor in terms of gold nowadays; like MAYBE 20-25k max between ALL of my toons.

Then do normal then heroic then M+

Definitely don’t want to touch dungeons/raids either. I don’t enjoy them and it’s difficult for me to commit the time to run through them.
I remember back in BfA, you could easily catch up in gear running multiple WQs each day. That doesn’t seem to be a thing in SL; all I’m really seeing on the world maps are anima and conduit rewards (gag). There’s gotta be something a casual like myself can do from simply questing a few hours a day to get caught up to at least survive the new quests.

Get to Zerith Mortis and buy 226 anima gear, do the 7 sets of campaign quests. You’ll pick up a few slots from those and kill rares, you might get some gear from those and ciphers to upgrade world gear there. If you don’t have much anima, the quests and chests and rares will solve that problem real quick.

Then you really dont need gear
Just use whatever you get from Quests

Just run through Zereth Mortis and see what gear you get on your way up to the World Boss. Then use some anima and buy green ilvl 226 gear.

I get the feeling this is another one of those “help me gear up but dont actually give me valid ways to gear up as i refuse to do anything that’d do that because current expansion is bad” kinda threads.

p2w spend real money and buy the wow token to buy gear off the ah.

I figured the word “casual” was self explanatory. Yes, if the only “valid” ways to gear up are running through dungeons and raids, then that’s too bad for me. But I’ve seen several helpful players mentioned going straight to ZM, so looks like world content and questing actually IS a valid way to for me to gear up while still playing the game the way I enjoy it. Thanks to all for that!

casual does not inherently disregard dungeons / raids as a valid gearing path no. but yes if you refuse to do those, then pretty much your only choice is zereth mortis. Though i’d highly recommend at least supplementing said zereth mortising with lower level mythic plus as its not hard to get into and can be great for gearing up whatever zm isn’t giving you at the moment.

You will not have fun in Z M if that is true … Yes they give 233 gear, but if you can not even do the quests.

This is the quickest way to bypass all the content you’ve been avoiding and get gear.

isnt that the point of p2w?

Do you have any anima? If so you can buy some gear in ZM. Then just do questing and killing rares for upgrades. Sometimes you can find some things in chests.

You’ll need to do the storylines if you want to get flight and dungeons are not required.

From what I remember, if you do the storylines in ZM you end up getting a decent amount of gear along the way.

You should be able to do the story quests there. I did them right after dinging to 60. It was a warlock, but I’m assuming a DK can do that too.

You aren’t the player Blizzard wants. Didn’t you see all the store links from launch to play screen? Start again and compare help links to store links.

Maybe next time don’t give away your gold in a “I quit” thread.

Unironically, you buy raid BoEs
