Fastest spec for leveling?

Starting a new goblin rogue. Google tells me its Outlaw but checking with the masters here.

outlaw is best. the energy is rough to work with for both sin and sub.
maybe during 50-60 its a little better to do sin but outlaw has a great stun that does sick damage.

They all have a hard time low level, but outlaw is the best. Get satyr for your neck and 2 elemental force and enjoy your auto attacks for a while

Yeah outlaw is best. You run the fastest and can grapple to things which is super fun

Thanks all will do outlaw (I am the original poster.) Before I totally commit to goblin - how does rogue gear look on them at higher levels? i find their sneak hilarious.

also, what level would u say the other 2 specs open up for decent leveling speed?

Make a goblin and log in. Then shift-p, go to appearances, and click on sets. See what you think.

ty i’ll do that now. I already have an Undead warlock or i’d go undead for sure. Kinda torn b/t Goblin and mag’har orc.

Goblins make the best rogues, hands down.

Orcs look bow-legged, blood elves are just plain terrible at everything (unless you like barbie dolls) Trolls are alright, but sneak like they’re stoned.

Go goblin, or nothing :slight_smile:

Goblins run stupid, sneak looks like they have crap in their pants and they are FUGLY!

i had a goblin rogue and faction changed him. the very first thing i said is this guy runs like the blonde girl in taken

Why do people think Outlaw is fun. 3 buttons 90% of the time.

Then RtB for a hope at doing DPS.

oooo. Exciting.

I’ve level sin and had little trouble what so ever killing anything while leveling up.

I’ve been leveling an Assassination Rogue through a combination of questing, BGs, and dungeons. It has been an absolute breeze, and I feel god-like in pvp so far

I’ve danced around all 3 specs leveling.
My humble suggestion?

When you can, tailor it to your playstyle. Do a little research into the class and it’s specs and limitations.

If you want to whip the pistol out and shoot a mob as its about to die? (One of my favorites) Go Outlaw.

If you want to be the from the shadows, lurk and backstab dumping a big burst on your target? Go Sub.

Currently my favorite on a bigger mob is to drop a bleed or two on it, Kidney Shot it and watch it die. Go Assassin.

The level grind is tedious enough. Have fun with it.

Edit: I know I probably didn’t answer your question but it may feel like a faster level grind if you’re gasp enjoying the class. :grin:

I’d go Outlaw atleast until 40. I don’t know how Assassination plays without Mutiliate, but I imagine Outlaw is more enjoyable/efficient until then atleast.

Outlaw is very good for leveling.

Outlaw for sure, it sucks that you have to wait though until level 63 for blade flurry , but that is your bread butter for taking on more than 1 at a time.

incoming nerfs next week to Outlaw when 8.2 hits, RIP; it was fun while it lasted. Now back to my healer -.-

I leveled as sin and found it pretty easy, but I previously had played to 110 in that spec during Legion. My favorite way to get around is moving faster when stealthed. I also love to stack DoTs on multiple mobs - poison just suits the class.

Outlaw. Get the talent to run 15% faster so you run 30% faster. It makes just running around while questing better along with grappling hook. No need to stealth and having pistol shot to pull mobs.

If you plan on spamming dungeons go assassin as outlaw won’t have any ae for quite awhile and you can at least spread poisons.

Personally around 116 I’d switch to assassin just because I found it more survivable with the leech poison til you hit 120 and get a little bit of gear so quest mobs become jokes again.
