So I have a 12700K, a PCIEx3 NVME drive and all the bells and whistles, but I still find it takes a few seconds or more to load anything.
Is there a limit to how fast you can load this game? Like changing characters, or zoning into instances?
That’s normal? What were you expecting zero loading times ever? Not possible

You think this game is optimized for loading times? It isn’t optimized for anything outside of time gating.
from my understanding wow is very CPU dependent, but does not utilize CPUs well at all leading to seemingly high specs having poor performance/loading time.
someone more tech savvy will probably be able to correct me.
There are many server-side limits. There are also chunks of “this is what is in your zone” data that has to be gathered. For example, if I’m in Org at the AH, who else is there, where are they, what are they doing (casting, standing, sitting, bidding, etc.), what are they wearing, are there portal graphics, pets, etc.?

That’s how games work. It will never be instant.
Disable add ons and turn graphics lower would be faster load times but… not worth it 
Try loading into Dalaran on a slow HDD.
It would take legit minutes to log in and load everything.
For Wow’s sorry optimization, a few seconds on an SSD is pretty good.
