Faster Legendary Cloak Upgrades

All the people who are “praising” and thanking them are either hardcore players disguised as “casuals” or “semi-hardcore”, or haven’t realized what a dumb “catch up” fix this is.

Blizz is very cute to compare this to previous expansion catch ups but very conveniently ignoring the difference between cost AND how much more stuff echoes are used to buy.

For most of the casual players, who make up MAJORITY of the playerbase, they won’t be able to buy more than just one extra core with this and that’s too only after some farming unless they really are done with all the essences and corruption tokens and in that case they are NOT casuals anyway.

This is very disingenuous and inaccurate - either there is a bug, or you have not communicated this process properly.

  • If you are 1 week behind, you need to run a vision or kill n’zoth to catch up (so basically, do your regular weekly) to catch-up; you cannot buy a malefic core
  • if you are 2 weeks behind you need to do both the vision and kill n’zoth (in the same week) to catch-up; you cannot buy any malefic cores
  • For anything greater than 2 weeks behind, you can buy malefic cores to get to 2 weeks behind, at best

You cannot simply get the current maximum Resistance that the cloak allows by buying Malefic Cores from Mother.

So basically, any alt that is 2 weeks behind and cannot get a n’zoth kill (presume they can do a vision clear) will always be, at the very least, 1 week behind.

Please take the time to correctly communicate how things work, really avoids lots of frustration and disappointment.

Either someone at blizz miscoded MOTHER to be 1 week behind or blizzard miscommunicated. But either way this was a decent system to catch up with for people who are semi-casual, it has allowed me to have 2 maxed out mains and it does help. Just not everyone.

Some players will complain no matter what.
2000 is not a lot. You can get them several ways, including M+ keys, vision dailies, etc.
You didn’t have to kill N’Zoth to get the core before. Most of us just did a full vision clear and called it good.

I am only able to upgrade till 89, 3 short of what current cap. I have already gotten the malefic cores from N’zoth and Horrific vision. Bug? Intended?

Then don’t play and shut up.

It’s almost like blizzard took you, the ‘majority’, of casuals at your word when you said you wanted a gear vendor and specifically that you wanted this added to a vendor. Maybe you guys should have just come out and said that you wanted to be handed it for free like we all suspected was the case.

2000 echoes is pretty steep. My alts will be unable to buy any of the corruption for months if all their echoes are going into cloak upgrades. Make them Bind on Account instead and the 2k price tag is more acceptable (I.e my main doesn’t need corruption pieces and could buy an extra 2 cores per week for alts)

Awesome so I can skip doing horrible visions all together.

Your post is very confusing. You say you don’t give a crap about having a rank 15 cloak, then why do you care if you can ‘catch up’ or not.

good please make free level 15 upgrade and all cores option ,love u if u do it
send it to mailbox i say thanks with hugs so dont be shy now !

They don’t care about the content. They do care about the cloak. In short, they want everything handed to them.

Mother is not offering this to me. really frustrating

This is an excellent solution.

Why can’t we buy them to cap? They disappear one level below what is currently max from the vendor (replicated this on two characters).

What a dumb response, you should be working for Blizzard’s PR. No one is talking about it’s being on vendor but the very high cost when you ALREADY have a long list of other things to buy with those echoes.

There have been few other suggestions like either reducing the cost or even better this should’ve been bought with resources and that way we could be able to transfer those from mains to alts as well. Or just make echoes BoA.

Next time, actually bring something sensible to the table rather than being a troll if you want to join a discussion or do everyone a favor and don’t say anything at all.

I don’t understand the benefit of being able to buy these with Echoes. Assuming that a player is already gathering Echoes to buy corruption effects, why would they now want to increase corruption resistance if they don’t even have corruptions to use yet? Can’t the weekly caps just be removed or something?

Today is Thursday, June 25 based on Pacific daylight time. Based on this post, the cloak should be upgradeable up to 92, and it is. However, if your cloak is currently 89, the Malefic core from MOTHER somehow disappears, making it impossible for those people at 89 resistance to cap it at 92 this week. Having said that, I did a horrific vision run this week already and got my 1 Malefic core. Does this mean Blizzard expects me to run a normal or + N’Zoth to fully upgrade my cloak this week?

Somehow, I don’t think this was how Blizzard intended it to be. Is this a bug where Malefic core disappears at cloak resistance 89?

I have a feeling they unintentionally coded it in a way where you can only get the cores from Mother till 89, and then kill nzoth for a core for the +3 of the week. Can someone test this?
