I’ve never been a fan of flying, but it remains and always will. Blizzard has seemed to want to phase it out even, but why is there no middle ground? Going from 100% speed to 310% speed in the air is an extreme jump.
What I want is 200% speed land mounts. It would be a lot of fun to just be zipping along the ground and is a good compromise. Still engaged with and exploring the world instead of flying over it, but not moving numbingly slow either.
i want a train that goes 400%. luxury lines. goblins get on that.
i think the reason for this is all the areas where you cant fly but you can use a ground mount like BGs for example. although is see no reason why it couldn’t just be limited in those areas
They can easily limit that like how druids are less fast in BGs.
I agree with OP that max level mounting should increase land speed. Perhaps, you need pathfinder for that in the new zones, I’m ok with that.
new zones will have purchasable flying, like legion and dreinor so there wont be a pathfinder for shadowlands

I think it would be cool if they would add Leaping mounts, like Eq2 did. In EQ2 you had mounts that could Hulk-jump really long distances and that was fun landing in goofy spots and then bouncing away.
But otherwise, yeah, faster land mounts would be cool.
How is it a compromise?
200% is way too fast for ground mounts to feel the same.
You would make a good Blizzard employee, they too believe a system nobody wants is a compromise between two different things people do want.

I think for a mount equipment, they can add some sort of Nitro Boost for your mounts. Something like:
Gazlowe’s Experimental Nitro Motor
One Minute Cooldown
Attach this device to your mount. When used, may boost your mount speed by an additional 100% for 15 seconds. May cause catastrophic failure and erupt - exploding and dealing 40-80% of your HP over 6 seconds.
The explosion would dismount you and render your mount unusable for 30 seconds.
This would be fun! Gives a little variety instead of just water walking, dismount protection and a parachute.

There is, well rather you don’t need one, just “RP” slow walk. I don’t know what the original key was, but on my keyboard it is the numpad / On a regular server it is funny to do…
but is it as slow as moving in slow motion. slow motion would really let you take in the sights as your being stabbed to death like jullius ceaser
They said at Blizzcon they will be following the same Pathfinder system as Legion/BFA for Shadowlands. The thing you’re probably thinking about is WoD/Legion pathfinder being gone come Shadowlands.
You’re free to continue using a 100% speed land mount if you prefer the feel of a 100% land mount.

Agreed. Some mounts already look incredibly goofy at 100% speed, and even more so with the 20% increase from pathfinder. Leave it as is. 100% is fast enough for ground mounts.
There is nothing to argue. There is still Pathfinder in Shadowlands. It’s just not there for Legion/WoD (it’s a gold cost for those now).
