I’m really hoping this is a bug and not a feature but I can no longer mine while riding a mount. get dismounted when interact with node. I’ve been so happy to fly from node to node

Me too. This is garbage. The whole reason I maxed mining process was to mine while mounted.
Edit: It looks like you have to land your flying mount first. If you have not landed your flying mount, it will dismount you in order to mine.
If this change is functioning as intended, this is just plain stupid. The whole point of a “flying mount” is to fly. The whole point of mining while mounted is to remain mounted.

I get what they were going for, but they only did it halfway. To make it match herbing, it just needs to tell you you’re flying rather than outright dismount you.
I did get a chuckle out of the fact that it doesn’t interrupt the mining cast as you fall from your mount though.
Ugh, it also dismounts you while swimming, since swimming is technically considered flying underwater.

Me too. It’s not 100%. I get dismounted about 80% of the time even in the same zone. I might not get dismounted. I just mined something in the water and didn’t get dismounted but got dismounted when I mined on the shore. Some zones are much better at leaving you mounted.

Adding on to the thread, getting dismounted while farming is definitely not the way it was working before Tuesday’s patch.
You have to land on the ground now, you cannot fly and mine any longer. They corrected that unintended interaction.
Now they just need to make it match herbing, where it tells you You are flying. instead of dismounting you.
If this is a bug don’t expect it to be fixed. They still haven’t fixed the net worth quest ice fishing bug from LAST YEAR. That being said being dismounted while gathering on a flying mount is completely broken. BLIZZARD had an 8 hour maintenance and still screwed it up…
You might be right. The other bug I found today (contract rep doesn’t work consistently) has been a known bug for a year and change.
They already confirmed this is intentional and working as designed now. Bummer.
If this is “as intended” then someone completely incompetent was put in charge of making the determination for that intentionality.
Hopefully, that person was part of the other incompetent 1900 people that got their walking papers last week.
it was never intended to allow players to farm while mounted as this defeats the purpose of the game.
It is intended that we can mine or herb while mounted in the Dragon Isles.
It was not intended that we could mine while flying in the Dragon Isles.
Then why give the ability to do so with maxed mining process?
they realized the mistake and thankfully corrected it. no one wants herbing/mining while mounted or flying
Uh it wont let me herb on a ground mount not even while flying I am legit not getting to herb at all while on any mount
