Best place to farm this anyone? im alliance as well so…
That’s a tough call, right? Because of being Alliance (Which I am too, btw) we can’t pick certain spots that are priminant (as in, in front of Ratchet, between WC and the Crossroads, etc… I also know the drop is random among a TON of different mobs in the Barrens… That being said, WoWhead DOES say that some of the lions are a higher reported drop %. So, maybe focus the prides of lions sunning in the bushes? That’s my plan, anyhow… GL!
The drop rates for this type of stuff are always off on Wowhead-like sites. Just go to Barrens and kill everything you can until it drops. Anecdotal evidence is that the drop rate is better in the oasises.

You know, I change my previous thought, I think (of the non rare or named drops) the Thunderheads might be the best drop…
Check the neutral auction house. I got mine for 7 gold. At the time I wanted it, it was 3 gold but no one wanted to let me borrow the gold with interest so I farmed 7 and bought it.
Vs spending 4+ hours farming for it originally
It’s completely random. I spent hours farming that thing and never got it. My brother was in the Barrens all of ten minutes and it dropped for him.
Some mobs are slightly higher drop rates than others, but pretty much just kill everything in barrens. I’ve always had luck farming around oasis outside WC.
Usually get it within an hour.

Probably better off buying it in the neutral AH. I’m lucky to find it with a full clear of the barrens.

I bought 4 of them for 1-2g each in first week lol!
I ended up getting mine in the neutral AH in Booty Bay. The 20g was worth more than the time I’ve already invested in farming it.
It’s an incredibly rare world drop in the Barrens. Between this character and my alt the skinner we’ve killed thousands of mobs while grinding levels in the Barrens, and never seen it drop.
In retail it’s not rare at all.

Same here. I completed all of the Barrens quests and skinned for a few levels and never saw it.

If you found it outside wailing caverns, that’s where you got lucky. It’s really rare anywhere in the Barrens.
Forsure. I was grinding in the area as i waited on group.
Took the boat to ratchet,headed out of town to go to Desolace,killed a raptor,it dropped.
Lorewise, is there some crazy chef handing out recipes for mutant fish to whomever?
