Farming northrend ore is the worst

BC as well, why is this ore so rare still?

Which ore? Cobalt sucks but saronite and titanium are overly plentiful in WG :stuck_out_tongue: adamantite is okay in nagrand, khorium makes me cry

Ah khorium, the only specialrare metal that my stable of alchemists cannot whip up… I manage to get dribs and drabs by always keeping a miner on the Netherwing Ledge rep grind, never fel iron out there and if enough people are ripping through, khorium at least once a day.

Cobalt seems quite common.

It’s only common in the lower-end Wrath zones, Borean Tundra and Howling Fjord. I’d imagine Wintergrasp and Sholazar Basin are where folks are still going to mine mostly, and it basically doesn’t exist in either zone.

Sholazar… Sholazar, that’s the one where people mostly run rings around the outside, right? I do my mining up the Howling Fjord side, don’t usually run into saronite until Storm Peaks.

He has a fair point. The ore spawn rates and density is outright ridiculous. I’m currently taking my death knight and trying to finish up engineering from those expansions. I have finished wrath and currently working on the outlands. Fel iron spawn density is ridiculous. I can only stomach so much at a time gathering it.

Don’t remind me of that terror of farming there jeeze that kinda memory can kill

I used to do Saronite farming rings in Icecrown for hours at time while talking to people in Vent.

Ah, the good old days.

Same for me, but in cata flying in the river in twilight highlands farming elementium and pyrite

BC is terrible. I don’t think Wrath is that bad especially Scholozar.

I have seen pyrite nodes far more often in Uldum and Twilight than I ever see khorium in Nagrand or Shadowmoon, but there’s also only one common ore in Cata and there’s both fel iron and adamantite in Outland.

Yeah the old world resource collection really was misery. I would spend like half an hour every single day doing nothing but collecting ore with a character just to have enough to actually make things for alts. Its wayy too rare

But get this: it used to be much worse. Back then, there were no shared resources. One person got it all. So if a druid swooped down in raven form and got that herb before you, you were out of luck.

And there was always a druid.

Burning Crusade classic is gonna be so lit when everyone is farming for Deep Thunder and Dragonstrike.

Wait til the mote farming in Northrend starts up

Ring around the outside and smaller loops around the four pillars.

I’d go herbing/mining in stormpeaks just to listen to the stormpeaks zone music.

My Go to place was Sholazar Basin, a ring around the outside. You could do the edges and mountains of Icecrown as well but it was much huger and took ages
