I saw a video recently about farming ore and in it the guy showed a nifty macro, but i can’t get it to work. I’m not sure if its meant for classic, if got changed or what.

Anyone got the skinny on this? I’m only farming to raise my Cata Engineering to 70 so i can use my Loot-a-Rang again. The prepatch changed the level requirement and the ore is super expensive on the AH.
I’m not aware of anything that changed with prospecting macros. Are you seeing any sort of error?
More importantly, why are you prospecting Elementium to level up Engineering? You need to smelt it into bars for use in Eng. The gems you get from prospecting won’t do much for engineering.
So /prospecting is just for jewelcrafting? I’d assumed it was for harvesting ore with mining. That would explain why it does nothing on my toon.
Yup, only jewelcrafters can prospect. (And it’s effectively disenchanting the ore, so not what you want to do for engineering.)
