I went to Winterspring with a guild group. Left SW saying “it should maybe take an hour” and once there killed demon after demon… even the felhounds so they’d respawn the ones that did drop the eye.
4 hours later we are gonna call it for the night. I actually commented “you know the very last one when we leave is gonna drop it” and when we make it to the entrance there was one of the 2 guards spawned there… and…
I passed the eye to another priest who had been in the guild longer than I. He was thankful for that, so he gave me all the gold he had on him (about 300g). I used that buy the Eye of Shadow.
I farmed Mara princess for 6 hours and bought one offered in /world. The end.
Farming rare items is, on average, a waste. It’s faster to farm gold and purchase the item in question directly. The only exception would be demonic runes, as an easy BoP alternative to dark runes.
Did it in bc or wrath, I forget when, with my friend
did they despawn wrath day 1 ? then it was like BC the last day on purpose.
it was quick, took us like 15 minutes with 2 people.
I think the drop rate is actually not that rare, the highest (best) percentage world epic ingame I believe at like 5% drop rate for elite demons.
There’s a lock in my guild that solo farms them, day in and day out. He literally is selling multiple per day, and has farmed dozens upon dozens of them.
Recently demand has tapered off, so he has around 8 in his bank.
Whenever a priest in guild needs one, he just gives one to them
