I am… dubious. The Fantastic Four were never my favorite characters to begin with so my excitement was already not high. The retro 60’s futuristic style of the movie is… a choice. And while I like both Pedro and Vanessa they are both miscast in their roles. I am kinda curious about an actual Galactus and not a doomstorm in space… and the one character that I really do like has been swapped to a girl, because of course Disney. All in all. I will wait. I am not writing it off but my expectations are tempered.
This movie might have some superhero cameos. Heroes who were created during the 1960s. Like Spider-Man, Iron Man, Dr. Strange and more.
I think after too many F4 movies, some people might feel fatigued.
Just like some had Spider fatigue with the nonstop Spider Man movies churning every decade.
It could be good. Certainly looks better than other movies coming out. Glad they look like Kirby’s art come to life.
I see that term and I’m obliged to say “Go Team Venture!”
Nah, we had bad movie fatigue. Sony, like Fox, kept pumping out bad movie after bad movie in a sad play to keep certain characters from going home to Marvel. Universal is a petty ho that’s keeping Hulk from having his own movie.
I can’t argue with this. lol
Based on the trailer, I don’t think they got this one even close to right. The Ben Grimm in the trailer is NOT Aunt Petunia’s favorite nephew, the ever lovin’ blue-eyed Thing, idol of millions. Benjy is a gruff, irascible guy from the slums of NY. He sure doesn’t sound that way in the trailer. Hell, they didn’t even get his look right. The first 2 flicks actually did a good job with Ben. Maybe the new one will do a better job with Galactus and Doomsy.
I am wondering if the cgi is still getting worked on. Like his look wasn’t bad, in so far as his design (the oversized eyebrows are pretty spot on comics wise), but he looked plastic-y, like he was made of orange tic-tacs rather than stone.
And yeah, his voice should be way gruffer and gravely. I didn’t have an issue with the slice-of-life cooking scene other than it was kinda long and not funny. If it was even ment to be funny which I couldn’t tell.
Need to see more trailers/teasers before getting close to passing judgement. My concern is if Disney is going to drop Galactus in as an antagonist they may have bitten off way more than they can chew (took three issues on paper). Of course if they use him as a means of introducing the Silver Surfer then we already have a movie to use as a comparison (that sets the bar extremely low IMO)
