Hello devs,
Perhaps I’m wrong, but a number of guilds I’ve talked to have shared the same experience. Fankriss is incredibly overtuned with health and rate of spawns of adds, making it nearly undoable without overpacking the group or having everyone roll engineering.
Huhuran is also evidently keeping her frenzy through wipes, leading to people unable to be able to take her down.
Can we get these things looked into/clarified? Thanks.

We experienced the same thing with Fankriss, we assumed the issue was that we went in with 17 people, and were barely able to kill adds before the next ones spawned…

We had 3 adds up when we kill Fankriss and Huhu was weird… we took her down to 10% and wipe and after 3 other attempts couldn’t get her pass 80% cuz she stayed enraged.
Everything in AQ except for CTHUN is very undertuned. Cthun fight just feels like stuff has slightly too much hp, but still very doable.

Fankriss feels overtuned with HP and adds.
C’thun feels overtuned in terms of add HP and the fact that he spawns more adds whilst he is weakened which is just awful.

- eyes spawning in pairs per spot or even triple
- etc
cthun needs heavily nerfed, bosses cannot be balanced around worldbuffs

I respectfully disagree. This is a raid that was said to be tuned for 20 people. With 23 we were barely keeping up with add spawns (sometimes 3 worms would spawn, sometimes 5) on Fenkriss, so much so that even with cleaving/aoeing them fenkriss was never getting below 60% before we were overwhelmed. We aren’t a group of amateurs either, we haven’t had struggles or issues handling content, hard mode or not, up to this point.
Fenkriss, huhu, ouro, and cthun just seem tuned incorrectly and also flat out buggy. Huhu keeps her enrage through death, ouro disappears and never returns, cthun occasionally spawns twice as many adds and some of them are unstunnable/uninterruptable.
I’m not asking for a cakewalk, I like a challenge. I’m asking that these glaringly obvious bugs and inconsistencies get addressed.
Cleared with less than 20 people in a mediocre guild.
Didn’t full clear. Was on normal. 19 man. Had world buffs.
And your “mediocre” guild has majority of the dps putting up purple and orange parses in previous raids.
No mediocre guild or group is clearing big aq hard or normal in its current state.

Cleared last night normal mode with around 25. We used our 2 best AOE tanks and had them tank all adds on the butt of the boss. Hard focused worms/snakes and had everyone rock AOE runes. Then had two tanks for boss. Popped WBs after 2 wipes and got kill. Seems a tad bit overtuned with add spawns.

Anyway… we have a decent group of players, hardmode everything up to this point hasn’t been a problem. We cleared up to C’Thun, got him down to ~25% on Phase 2. I enjoy a challenge, it is the first week and there should be progression involved, not everyone should be able to go in and full clear first lockout.
The spawnrate of adds on Fankriss is a bit fast, definitely could be tuned down a little for normal mode. We didn’t have problems with Huhu so I can’t speak on that boss. But the big eye stalks on C’Thun seem a little over-tuned for not being interruptible. Or at the very least, maybe not having them spawn during the invulnerable phases would help a lot I think.

Thats the idea of the fight. Add management. Fankriss is 100% about add management. The boss itself is a complete pushover. The adds are what can be deadly and what will cause wipes and thats 100% the idea of the fight.
Complaining about not being able to down Fankriss’ adds fast enough is like complaining about not being able to down M’uru’s adds fast enough. It means youre not doing what youre supposed to well enough to defeat the encounter smoothly. Meaning an adjustment is necessary. Either your DPS are slacking or your DPS is lacking. Pick one.
Huhuran’s frenzy on the other hand, it staying up is HILARIOUS if true. Bugged, but hilarious.
dont believe trolls that say this my guilds in the upper% of clearing Hardmodes and we shut hardmode off and couldnt clear 4th boss with 20 people
