Falsely suspended for botting, cont. to play after suspension?

Sooo, I got banned back in WOTLK for tea bagging. Killed a guy in storm peaks and did the sit/stand a couple times on his corpse. Yeah, that was 72 hour ban.

I don’t think I’d return. Mainly because I’ve played since 09 and accumulated a lot on my account.
Plus of course right now I’m kinda in a spot where I’m ok if I play or don’t play.

Before my lack of interest/boredom or whatever it is I probably would start over.

But with a mount that’s now unattainable (except on BM) that might be a huge problem. Plus the time involved in achievements and collections and the like, starting over would be
something I’d have to think about.

Guess that’s one big reason not to bot…or break the rules. Also it’s wrong so there’s that.

I’ve reported my fair share of bots and spammers over my 14 years trust me and never gotten a single thanks but this was a friend and didn’t see the harm there. But even so that’s the only thing I can think of that could’ve gotten me in trouble and even then I won’t ever know if that’s the reason because Blizz doesn’t disclose anything. Thanks for the input though on my question.

Yeah, worst part is; it was quite common back then for this; at least my server anyway. It was something I picked up doing after having had it done to me.

No one else I know was banned for this, my friends tend to think I did it to an employee or a friend of an employee or something…

A better question is this:

If someone gets banned, deserved or not, and doesn’t agree with the ban… why would they come post about it on the forums unless they intend to keep playing the game?

You either do or don’t. Doesn’t matter if the ban was deserved or not.

I’ve played 13 years and never gotten accused of botting so I’d imagine if I did then I was doing something, not necessarily botting, but something I didn’t usually do so

why continue to play even after the suspension when they could do the same thing to you again at anytime?

I’d assume that by cutting out whatever it was that caused Blizz to flag my account I’d be fine

I multibox box on a daily basis and have done so for half a year and have never run into any problems with false positives. I never worry about that sort of thing happening. I know I’m not doing anything against the EULA so I’d say 99.9% of the time, the ban is usually justified.

I’m in no way trying to even say any of the fault was his, I even defended him when asked if he was a bot since he multi tasks when he plays but it is literally the only thing that could’ve got me in trouble. Oh sure let me just ENDANGER my account of 14 years on purpose ffs you all act like anyone would just just throw that time and effort away wtf.

You’ve already tried an angle in Customer Support forum (could be summed up as “unban me for mental health reasons”) and had your thread locked.

If someone feels their account has been actioned incorrectly, they can file an appeal and the Game Master team will review the information that led to the penalty. Appeals are not discussions, and the Game Master team will not be able to share any details beyond what was provided in the original account action notification email.

Lodge your appeal (if you haven’t already), accept the result of your appeal as final, and move on.

I would start over since I got nothing better to do with my time, but I’m sure it would turn out to be impossible to stay focused for long. I would be livid. Then I would unsub. Then try again. Rinse and repeat until I can live with a barebone character.

I don’t want to baselessly call you a liar, but aside from mass ban waves, I’ve yet to hear of anyone being wrongfully banned for botting.

It happens quite often on reddit to classic players who farm gold. With them being unbanned afterwards.

You could try following the Eula and not botting, that would be a good way to start.

You guys can call me a botter all day and I’ll deny and say I’ve never done it. I would not be on here complaining that I’ve been wronged if I truly didn’t believe that. Blizz left me with two lowbie toons that I can still log into the forums with with my suspended account. Why? Idk but maybe they are giving me the most miniscule chance to argue my case?
